If you have very chalky soil add plenty of organic matter to the planting area or failing that plant in a pot. **Q: How quickly and how large does it grow?** A: It's not meant to grow much - the roots have been cut to prevent this and the plant is in a tiny pot to prevent the roots growing. You also have to cut back any excess root to keep it small - they are meant to be miniature trees.
