Image stabilization is a game changer!
Several of my golf buddies have range finders from Blue Tees and Bushnell. These are all fabulous range finders with their own sets of pros and cons, so when it came time to buy my own I wanted to see what other options existed. The Nikon is a bit pricey (not so much when compared to a top of the line Bushnell) but the image stabilization is an absolute game changer. With both the blue tees and the Bushnell, the range finding is fine but I always found from over 150 yds out, that getting a stable mark on the pin is challenging. Jolt and (insert marketing term for being locked on to a target here) is helpful in increasing confidence you've shot the right thing. But nothing compares to seeing the pin through a stable image and shooting it directly. Couple that with the nice green ring and pleasant chirp you get when locked on and I now have 100% confidence what I've measured is an accurate number.Optics are fabulous, easily as good as any Bushnell I've come across. The display is extremely crisp and bright. The diopter adjustment is great, easy to change, but holds its position so it does not fall out of place. Its also a small form factor compared to the BlueTees or higher end Bushnell and feels wonderful in the hand.Cons are few and mostly begin and end with no integrated magnet and a somewhat low aesthetic value (but otherwise well made) included case. That said, its water-proof so setting it down on the fair-way while I take my next shot has never concerned me. There are 4 modes that are confusing to begin with, but make sense after a few-round which is the only reason I rated this range finder 4 stars for easy-to-use.Tldr: This is fantastic, high-quality range-finder on par with any Bushnell product I've seen. The image stabilization plus green ring and chirp set this apart and make it in my opinion the best range-finder currently on the market.

Great product and works so well
Love the image stabilization and picking a range when playing golf. Nice clear view and easy to pick out the pin and get a reading. Easy to use. Battery last a long time. No complaints. Would recommend.

Buying Another One As A Gift. THE BEST RANGE FINDER!!
So everyone that’s already given this unit 5 stars has pretty well summed up most of the same things I’ve experienced with the one I own already. I really wanted to answer a question that some folks have had about the rattle they may feel when the unit is not in use. This little unit actually has a quite powerful image stabilizer mechanism. The loose part that you feel is actually a gyro counterweight swinging freely when not in use. It’s definitely not broken. You won’t hear it actually “rattling”, rather you will simply feel something wobbling in there. Not a defect in any way. That is definitely an attribute of the image stabilizer mechanism. No doubt. As for my faith in the quality and reliability of this Nikon Coolshot Pro 2 Stabilized?? Tomorrow I’ll be delivered another one I just bought here as a gift because it really is the best range finder I have ever owned. I’ve had a few brands/models and that image stabilization is a dang game changer. Seriously. I couldn’t give a higher recommendation for a rangefinder for out on the golf course. Besides the lack of a magnet (a magnet on the actual case of the unit would effext the image stabilizer so a padded magnetic Velcro strap would work fine), this thing is literally perfect for its intended task.

Game Changer
This is my first personally owned rangefinder and I am thoroughly impressed. Accuracy is spot on. Very well lit and easy to read. Pin locking feature is very clear. Locks on crazy fast in less than half a second most of the time. The best feature by far is the image stabilization. I have been mooching off of my playing partners for years borrowing their rangefinders and have always had issues with locking onto pins because I couldn’t keep steady enough to lock onto the pin. Usually I end up holding my breath, tensing up, holding an awkward posture, or leaning on my cart to stay still. I can now hold the rangefinder completely still with one hand and lock onto the pin almost immediately. The stillness of the image and target is uncanny. My playing partner bought one right after trying it out during a round with me.Something to note is that this doesn’t come with a magnet. I read somewhere magnets can interfere with or damage the gyroscopes/stabilization hardware, so I would refrain from putting a magnet strap on this. In addition, Nikon could have done a better job of adding rubber over molds as the hard plastic doesn’t look to be able to take an impact or drop at all. Considering this likely would have to sit in the cart cup holder or compartment considering there’s no magnet, I would have liked a more durable shell/casing. Bushnell definitely did a better job there. Just to be safe I would recommend keeping it in a case and take it in and out when using. For me the performance very much outweighs the need for a magnet or extra idiotproofing. Highly recommend.

Works greaat but is pricey. Missing a magnet for cart attchment.
In addition to playing Golf, I am also a long Range firearm shooter for which identifying distance is mandatory for targeting/elevation settings. So I had a real nice Range Finder. But for golf, I found it lacking in may ways such as target acquisition of a distant flag without picking up foreground or background clutter. Well this Rangefinder satisfied every need especially those lacking with my other range finder. The only thing laking for the price is a cart magnet.

Great range finder
Once I figured out the different viewing options it is very easy to use. Locks in quickly and accurately. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing optics and stabilization
Nikon always has excellent optics as demonstrated by their camera lenses. This rangefinder combines the famous Nikon optics with stabilization of the view to minimize motion of the target, making the flag easier to see. In a few years, other rangefinders will make this feature standard. But not yet.

Nothing
I tried 3 different ones. Very clear image and the stability is nice. The problem is the unit will not always lock on the intended target.
