Worth the money
I like this book because of how organized it is. I am learning chords so I want simplicity. This book has already taught me stuff. Great for beginners and advanced, if they need help learning chords

Excellent resource.
If you are interested in learning more about scales, chords and chord progressions, this is the book for you. Mostly for adults wanting to go beyond reading a staff to playing a melody they know with simple chords or all the way through to complex chord progressions. it's all abouI chord theory and applications.

Useful but lacking
It's useful, but fails to discuss various things from the get-go, like inversions, piano fingering, etc. Not very methodical. Maybe better for theory than practice.

Good Teach Book
Packed with interesting music points, chords, and instruction. Just had the book less than 24 hours, and I am stuck looking at the many points, and instructions, one will come out of that book with something learned.

Very informative but the writing process a a little small
Very informative ebook. I am considering buying this as a normal book as well as I would like it as a quick reference book

un pò deludente
Sinceramente mi aspettavo un libro decisamente più completo. E' principalmente un libro di reference per gli accordi, ma non aiuta molto sulle progressioni.

Overwhelms you with information then skips over 90% of the important information
I am astounded that this book can have a 4* rating. It starts off well enough with an explanation on how chords are named and formed, but as soon as the chord progressions section hits it swings wildly from a dense torrent of too much information to no information at all.It gives you the I V7 chord progression: simple enough, with a few examples, but it never talks at all about how long you stay on chords, how you can use it yourself or anything like that. It just blasts you with two dozen songs that use the progression, and then moves on to I IV.The book barely covers the basics of major interval chord progressions (I IV V), and doesn't even bother with how other diatonic chords should be used or fit into the mix. They never explain how iii and iv can act as substitutes for I, or how certain chord progressions are actually just simpler versions with some substitutions, or anything beyond what you would find from a decent youtube video about how chord progressions work. Then the book gives the briefest of touches on concepts like passing chords, half-step preceding chords, pedal points and so on, but each concept is treated with no depth or respect to how someone could apply these things to their own playing like the title would suggest. The final section draws attention to how awful the teaching has been, by using real world examples from songs, but because they haven't taught you nearly enough about how chord progressions work, they are unable to explain how these examples work. For example, they give the chords to a Joni Mitchell song and describe it as 'unusual', but then don't even explain what's going on with the chords!!! They might as well have just said 'these chords are kind of cool. No idea why tho LOL'.It's so frustrating because they've disrespected decades of careful harmonic work by hundreds of artists. Anyone wishing to find some clue to the magic of chords would do well to avoid this book. It's underwritten, over marketed, and about as educational as the wikipedia page on chords. Save your money and learn there.
