Hip PeasNatural Hair Styling Balm/Gel/Pomade - Light Hold, 2 oz jar

This works well for my son who has fine straight hair. The texture of the product is a thick cream. It provides gentle hold but doesn’t make the hair stiff. It does have a strong sweet smell. I like the smell but I know not everyone likes scents.

I cannot recommend this product enough! I have sent this hair balm to so many friends. Clean ingredients, amazing smells and holds for several hours. My boys have thick hair and it holds nicely. Worth every penny

This stuff smells amazing! Keeps my sons hair in place enough, gave 4 stars because I thought it would hold in place longer or firmer but it’s a very very light hold, great for curls.

I usually don’t like scents at all, but this one does not bother me—perhaps because of the natural ingredients. The scent is very light and pleasant.I’m not sure what word to use, but “waxy“ comes to mind. The product is very thick and stiff even in the jar. It is not easy to spread on your hands. But the hold is very good.

This hair balm works great for kids! First off, it’s packaged nicely and has a good quantity. There is a nice light scent and it has a well mixed texture. I would like to emphasize this is a balm/palmade which if you have ever tried a palmade it’s not comparable to hair gel. A lot of people I’ve noticed who use this expect a palmade to last all day which is not the case for ANY brand. You will want to find a different product in general such as a gel if that’s your goal. This balm is easy to apply to hair, does not leave any residue and has a nice soft smooth finish that is durable for majority of the day. My son has very thick hair and a very bad cowlick in the front of his hair, this palmade is easy to apply and easily tames his hair. Outside of adult palmade and gels, this is the first kids balm we have tried and I will certainly be buying more of this in the future.

As a first time boy mom, I am slowly learning how to fix my sons hair everyday, and I wanted something that was all natural (Since he most likely will get this on his hands and stick it in his mouth) and I really wanted something that was very forgiving, meaning that I could build up the product if needed. I didn't want that classic gel, like boys had in the 90's that was strong hold and made hair instantly crunchy! I discovered this worked best with wet hair, it dispersed the product more evenly and was very easy to work with! And this little jar will last you a lifetime with the small amount that you need! It also has such a clean refreshing smell to it, almost a little fruity-ish, but nothing overpowering or super girly smelling!

Smells amazing. Doesn’t leave hair hard or greasy. Doesn’t hold super well for very long but long enough I guess.

This product is great if your little one wants to start styling their hair. However, it’s light hold so if a dog licks them or they rub their head against anything then their hair will get messed up. I like that it brushes/combs out easily! Great as a starter product.
