Hi, looking for some help.....what colour should the magnetic base be with it's charging? Red or Blue? Thanks :)

The light should be red, sometimes it’s a bit fiddly to get in the right spot, sometimes it’s purple or blue which means it’s not quite sat right.

what type of battery does it use? is it the 18650?

18650 with customized base plate. Looks like it contacts -&+ solely on the bottom. Hard to get hold of to replace at the moment

Can anyone tell me where the lanyard should attach to the torch

To my understanding, it doesn't have a lanyard. It has a clip. I've no doubt you could attach one to the clip, which is pretty strong, though.
