Used it on a dog chain and is sturdy enough except for the spring that snaps the opening close. The spring mechanism broke and the snap opened and fell off the cable. Had it clipped to a 16 ft chain attached to a chain to a 80 feet run of 1/4 inch coated cable. Lasted 2 months.
