Excellent product
If your tired of tongue bounce when towing a trailer, you have got to get this. I have three of them on different vehicles and would highly recommend.

Things to know
My opinions, I know lots of you folks experience in towing have known this stuff for years, but us new kids may not know this stuff yet.I use this on a heavily loaded bike rack on a 1 1/4 hitch. Have used it for over 4 years. Be aware of the following:first if you find the U bolt threads not quite long enough for 1 1/4 hitch, stack one or two extra grade 5 or 8 washers on the nut so you have enough thread. not split washers, not aluminum washers, but good thick strong washers. everything on this hitch you replace should be grade 5 or grade 8. after final install spray with a thick lube for weather protection.Next do NOT use Nylon lock nuts as nuts for this, they will not hold for the tightening torque you might need. Unless you can find grade 5 nylocks, and if you do find grade 5 let me know.Next use a torque wrench to tighten your hitch bolt (~50 lb ft) and the ubolts ( ~ 30 lb feet) nuts. For some installs you may need to cut some off of the ubolts to prevent dragging on driveways. At the first sign of anything being loose, any wobble, any noise, grab your wrench and check/tighten you ubolt nuts and your receiver/hitch bolt. I have no idea if this clamp works or works well with 2" receivers. Just that for 1 and 1/4 hitchs and the loads we usually have, it does a fine job. If you are doing something more demanding, quite trying to save pennies; 10/20/30 bucks for something that is so important and if it works well will last for over 5 years, this is not the place to save $5.Lastly, check all the nuts and bolts on the trailer/hitch you are pulling. quality hardware torqued correctly. checked on occasion.

Great clamp at a great price!
I searched through many items and looked at a few of these clamps in person. I have seen them priced from $12.99 to $28.00 and people I know who have them paid a varied price for them as well. This clamp is on par with any other clamp of this build type except it is cheaper! The metal used is a full 1/4 inch piece of plate and a more than adequate square u bolt with washer, lock washer and nut. Not sure of the hardware grade but is appears of good quality. This is a great product that looks, feels and operates exactly like those more expensive clamps. I would definitely recommend if you need a hitch clamp you get this one. Save money and lose no quality.

Great hitch stabilizer. 3 years of use and counting
Great product but missed one nut. Had to go to Ace to get another..Update. 3 years later and the need for a nut is nothing to how nice it's been. Steady hitch feels great while towing and also holds a 450lb bike on heavy hitch carrier absolutely solid.

Simple, effective, and neat with slight modification
I'm using it on a 1-1/4 inch hitch. As a result, the bolts were long, so I cut off about 1.5 inches from each end. Reduces possibility of the bolts hitting pavement when going up or down steep inclines. Because I may swap the ball hitch for my hitch-mounted cargo carrier or bike rack, I bought a GearWrench 9024 3/4-Inch Combination Ratcheting Wrench to make removal and installation easy. The shorter bolts also make it easier to remove and install. If you do cut your bolts, you will likely need to file the end spurs to enable rotating the nuts. It's installed on a 2014 Subaru Outback.

Good hitch stabilizer once you get all the parts
This is a great accessory if you can get one with all the parts intact. It comes in a loose-fitting bag. I purchased three on three separate orders and each one was incomplete requiring a trip to the hardware store to get the necessary washers and nuts. Also the U bolt is quite long and if your hitch is low they can drag the ground when going through a driveway, so I had to cut off about an inch of threads on each side. But once all this is done, it is a solid unit that works well.Note the proper installation is not shown but you put the U bolt over the top of your hitch that goes into the receiver and the plate on the bottom so that the flat side goes over the receiver and the lip presses against the straight part of the hitch that goes into the receiver. Slide it as far as it will go against the receiver and tighten evenly (a little on one side and then the other and back and forth). Some people mount it upside down with the threads of the U bolt pointing up, but this means that the U bolt is carrying the entire load of the tongue weight which it is not designed to do.
