Purchased this for my daughter's birthday. Sturdily built, basic game, just like the one I played forty years ago. Kids are still enjoying it. Not much bad to say about this: attractive plastic modeling. No electronics. She plays it with her friends for hours.

Pretty good Battleship playing pieces, the pieces work well. One major drawback is that there is no public display of the opponents announced shots. If it turns out that the opponent's ships occupy squares you have recorded as having attacked without result, there is no mutually "agreed to" record of the results. Kids often make mistakes, and worse this lack of a record encourages cheating. To avoid disputes, grandson and I use the pieces from a separate set (U-Build Battleship) to record shots.

We bought a version of battleship that was unlike this one. It didn't resemble the classic two person game. rather it was cheaply made, played on a single board (prob to save the manufacturer money) and the pegs and shipS fell out all the time. This toy is more like the classic, is well made, and is fun to play. I'm happy with this game.

I always loved battleship as a kid and now my kids do too. At first I was disappointed that there wasn't a fancy electronic version available. But then we got it home and I realized that its simplicity is why it's so easy to learn and so available to younger kids. They have enough flashing lights in their world, this is just real thinking fun. It's always a winner!

What a bummer! My son opened this on his birthday only to find that it could not be played due to missing pieces. Hasbro has been difficult to work with, I have yet to talk to a live person. Have moved on to trying to get them to replace it via email. I echo the other reviewers- buy it at Target.
