Best tone you can get on a Scout
I've heard a dozen full pipes and slip-ons for this bike but the Bassani sound best. It's got a deep rumble at idle and a wail above 7000rpm that just can't be beat. If you're into the high-revving nature of the scout's engine then this will highlight that quite well. For me, personally, I wanted something a little quieter than this. From stock at a 2/10 and open pipes at a 10/10, these are a 5 or 6. The stage 1 pipes are maybe a 4, and that's what I was looking for. V&H grenades and slash-cuts are about an 8. These are closer in volume to those than the stage 1 pipes. For me, who is concerned about hearing loss having played in a metal band as a kid, I'll wear plugs for any ride over 15min.

This is how the bike should have sounded coming off the lot
Had Radiant Shortys on for about a year. They are aggressively loud. I'm adjusting to the Bassani quickly, they are 98% what I hoped for.I wanted something a little more subtle than rip your face off and bleed all over your neighbor 's ears. These Bassanis are that. Really quiet (but louder than stock) with a firm grumble. Let me be clear: You will not drive under an overpass, rip the fuel, and make your pipes roar - these aren't that. What you will get is the sound Indian should have put on the Bobber from the start: a good low grumbling sound that doesn't overwhelm but does announce.Again, these should come stock on the bike, a perfect fit.
