Ely Echoes: The Portages Grow Longer (Minnesota)

I enjoy reading Bob Cary. The book consists of short articles from various publications. Some are very funny while others are serious. I would have loved to have met the man over a beer. His ability to tell a story is wonderful.

Great book for someone who visits this area. Gives us outsiders a peek into what life was like for the "pioneers" of canoe country.

I was thinking this would be stories at travelling in BWCA. It turned out to be newspaper articles formatted into a book. Most stories were a few paragraphs at best.
