Dried apricot paste

I sent it for somebody. I don’t know how it taste, but since made with natural ingredient, I believe it’s good.

This brings me back to Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn when I was a kid and we’d go to all the shops filled with wonderful Middle Eastern treats! This was always my favorite! Don’t hesitate to try it!

Bought this for my Dad, when I was in high school in the 70’s. He loved it, and would let me have a taste. Just as apricoty, and such a treat, as it was then.

Zero stars. Product was flavorless of the usual sweet and tartness of apricot. There was also a metallic after taste. Sadly, I was really looking forward for the products arrival.

There is an initial scent/surface flavor that is a bit off putting. I expect it is a mix of the wrapping plastic and light oil coating. Once you are past this though, the apricot flavor and acidity are deep and wonderful. The product cuts nicely with scissors and is a nice, easy snack.

I buy this regularly and product varies depending on rotation. Sometimes it tastes fresh, other times it takes on the flavor of the plastic wrap. DON'T PANIC! You just need to unroll the paste (leave it on the plastic) and the plastic taste will off-gas in a few hours. I cut it into strips so as not to gobble it down. Highly recommend. I love California apricots, but they're expensive and the Sulphur Dioxide preservative makes me cough.

I appreciate being able to buy these online and with quick shipping, not something that's easy for a specialty snack.

I have had this apricot leather off and on for literally decades. It is delicious, rich and chewy. (Occasionally the plastic it is wrapped in has a strong smell, in which case I remove the apricot product and wrap in in waxed paper.) I don’t know how the farmers and manufacturers manage to make their wonderful apricot treat in their home, Syria, given the political and military chaos with the US and Russia’s involvement. My appreciation of this product increases given this reality. Delicious and worth every penny.
