Gate 7, Vol. 3 (Gate 7, 3)

This volume was much more comprehensible during the first read than the previous one. The action was interesting and carried the plot elegantly while revealing some interesting new things about new characters. The art was lovely, though some character design felt a little out of step with the overall style of the series so far. It's possible that as it develops it will fit better. The central characters are getting more intriguing by the page in this volume, and the way they relate to the other supporting cast is beginning to have a more coherent feel. It sets the stage for more drama, and I am looking forward to it.

I have enjoyed the art and the story so much on all of these. I got sucked into clamp with xxxholic and I have never looked back. There is a bit much of the whole pretty androgynous boys (probably boys) with ambiguous sexuality hanging out together and being pretty and androgynous together. But much like David Bowie, it doesn't really take anything away from the story.

The mailing speed is very fast, but the book is not as well as I think! It looks old, like a used one, and the corners of the book are damaged. I remember that I asked and paid for a NEW one?!

I am a longtime fan of CLAMP so when my friend bought me this series of Christmas I knew I'd love it, and I do!the art is fantastic as always and the storyline is a bit different but still has that CLAMP style of their previous worksI can't wait for the rest to be released!

The detail in this series is just amazing, good story, comedy in the right and wrong moments, and almost all the characters are developed with a decent amount of side stories

Gate 7 volume 3 contains chapters 8 to 12 and translation notes.First thing, the cover image shown here is incorrect. The actual cover is the same colour as the previous volume and shows Hana sitting on an angry-looking tortoise with a giant snake in the background. The image on the cover shown here is inside the book.Dark Horse have added their logo on the spine of the book so it looks out of place when put next to the previous volumes. They did the same to Cardcaptor Sakura omnibus 4 and Magic Knight Rayearth omnibus 2. Very annoying for a collector.One more negative before we get to the positives, it annoys me that the characters based on historic figures have had their names reversed. I'm not used to hearing it like that.Now for the positives! And I'll start with the reason why I love Gate 7. The art. The art is beautiful, I'm still sad that we don't get any coloured pages inside this book as it would make it perfect.And the story is progressing nicely even though it's still random battles and lots of eating!The story/art itself gets 5/5, I love it! But I'm taking away a point because of the spine issues.
