Don't think it'll work on my 5 lb tank
I couldn't stick it on my 5 lb tank, wish the seller specified what range of tanks it works with, mine has the weld right in the middle and the gauge is too big so it doesn't stick well.

Does nothing
I understand the logic— a magnetic thermometer that essentially uses the hot water trick on a constant basis.Except, it doesn't work. It doesn’t do anything. I tried it in different spots on the bottle. I tried it at different outside temps. I’d leave it in one spot for hours before moving it to another. Nothing changed on the little reader strips.Skip it.Do it the old fashioned way by pouring a cup of hot water down the side of your tank. Feel with your hand. The empty airspace will be warm, the propane level will stay cold.

Good overall value
I didn't want to buy a gas guage as they add extra length and another connection that could leak gas. This works as described and very convenient.Only reason for not giving 5 stars is sometimes I have to shine a light on it because it is a little hard to read .

Gas level
This level lets me know how much propane I have left in my tank, and is very handy to have. Mostly because it sucks to run out of propane when you're out camping.

Doesn't work that great
I still usually have no idea how much propane is in the tank. Picking it up and feeling the weight is still how I can tell best.

This gas level indicator works if you use it correctly.
I needed something to measure the propane level in the fuel tank on a John Deere 4020 LP tractor. The factory gauge went south and I've been unable to find a replacement that is less than $400. This little device works great. After running the tractor for a while, I check the gauge and it will tell me if the propane is down to a level I need to refill the tank. It measures the temperature difference between the liquid and the vapor, so the tank has to be in-use or recently used to allow the liquid to cool due to vaporization. I plan on purchasing several more and "stacking" them to give me a little more warning about fuel level.

Serves its purpose
First off this is the easiest and most affordable way to let you know when your tank is getting low as long as you follow directions and put it lower on the tank! Watch the colors and the lines as the instructions state also. ( took me a moment to understand it when it was on the tank 😉 ) if you want to know when you're getting low this will do the trick - if you want to know exacrly how much is left in the tank then you spend the big bucks for a more accurate reading!!
