Worth the price to rent
Cover and a few pages a little worn but definite;y cheaper to rent here versus the school bookstore.

Good for media classes
Not an avid reader for classes so it probably wasn’t worth to purchase but it was decently priced and the material I did read inside covered a lot of information that was valuable to my class and was interesting.

Better than our Campus Bookstore!
Price was affordable... Had some sticky pages overall book in good condition. Item as described besides sticky pages toward back of book.

Brand new book without full price
This was my first time renting a book. Needed this book for my class for Spring 2017 semester. Instead of purchasing the book at my school's bookstore or buying the book altogether, renting was a great option for me because it was cheaper and I have no need for it since the class is finished. The book I received was brand new, which was a bonus. I already shipped it back and the process was simple.

Good book
Good book. Very informative, and to the point. Great chapter review sections.

Disorganized, unclear, and oversimplified
I had to retake this class with a different (this) textbook, so I am in a unique position for comparison. Compared to "Introduction to Mass Communication: Media Literacy and Culture" by Stanley J. Baran, this book spends little time on theory and in-depth analysis, choosing instead to waste massive amounts of time on trivia about each medium and on explaining the obvious, like "you use Snapchat in your daily life!" and "VR exists!" The concept of media literacy and the essential theories on which it was built are neglected altogether. If you really want a solid foundation in mass communications, avoid this book.
