I love this little thing so much. It works with every single one of my phantom powered microphones, and it seems to boost the quality, by providing better amplification than the preamps built into my zoom H4 essential recorder.So not only do you raise the volume, but you also give a lot more separation between the audio and the noise floor.I put the inline amplifier right by the microphone, and then have the cable running to the mixer or recorder. This way it boosts the signal before it is transmitted and is less likely to pick up noise .This thing works really well, and I will buy more as I need them for my ever expanding setup. Highly recommend to anyone looking to improve their existing microphones and recording setup.

Dont buy the cheap knock-offs get this instead! It actually works great on my Zoom H6 recorder in lowering the noise floor on dynamic mics. You can also use this on old ribbon mics. I've used this on 57s, beta57a's, k669D and it does the job. Does very, very slightly colour the sound (all FETs do) but not in any unpleasant way.

its good works nice with Shure SM7BI have a Mackie DLZ creator that have 70db gain thats why this fathead was not needed i find out and send it back.The package came open and the cage was very dirty so watch out that they not sell you a used one for the price of a new one.By the way this kind of things buy always new
