Used?
Imagine my shock when the previously USED paint brush arrived. (Pics included.) I do not recall purchasing a used paint brush. Purdy brushes used to be high quality, but given an occasional bristle comes out of the brush during painting I am thinking "they don't make them like they used to."

yes... black nylon... one of the best brushes and can't find in stores anymore.
Bought this in hopes it was really black nylon because I cannot find them anywhere... and yes it is... by far one of the best brushes I have used... I am a professional painter on almost 20 years and the newer brushes suck. 2.5" nylo-peacock & 3" nylo-scoter best brush around... too bad purdy discontinued... the newer brushes out aren't as good

Quality
These are great brushes and seldom lose a bristle. It is also very helpful to use the right brush for the paint. Avoid the "all paint" brushes because they're good for nothing. Purdy leaves a smooth finish.

Great!
Purdy quality and old school black nylon well suited for interior latex paint. Bought the 2.5 flat sash version recently as well. Great for wall cutting as well as baseboard and door finishing. Not suited for outdoor use on hot days. I wish these were more available at retail outlets. Awesome brushes to work with and easily cleaned too!

Occasionally Loose Bristles - Might be shipping issue
I have ordered several of these. Sometimes they are the best brush you can buy.Other times, bristles will come off in the middle of painting, even after trying to remove any loose bristles before starting to paint.I have never had this issue when buying these at Lowe's or ACE Hardware. I suspect the rough handling during shipping is to blame.

Smooth strokes with Purdy Brushes
Purdy makes top-notch brushes. They glide the paint onto whatever you’re painting. The angle is great to cut in corners. Yes they are more expensive than regular brushes, but they warrant the cost when painting a room or piece of furniture. The bristles stay intact & don’t shed onto your project. My husband who only bought cheap “ throw away “ brushes until I started buying Purdy Brushes praises them.

The bristles are “slinky” smooth and do a great job.

cannot hold enough medium
I bought this to apply polycrylic. Complete waste of time. It can hold enough medium to cover maybe 12 square inches . Left lots of brush marks and because of the small amount of applied product it would not self level.

Bristles keep falling out
This a good brush. I creates a very smooth finish with no brush strokes. Unfortunately, ALOT of bristles keep falling out each and every time it has been used. Very frustrating to say the least.

Nice and soft.
This is the nicest finishing brush I have ever used. In combination with good quality paint, it will leave the least amount of brush strokes possible on trim.
