Snow Creek: An absolutely gripping mystery thriller (Detective Megan Carpenter Book 1)

Not giving anthing away. Really enjoyed this read. Lots of twists and turns. Page turner.

I flew through this novel in less than a day and I thoroughly enjoyed my introduction to Detective Megan Carpenter. She's clever and full of empathy for the victims of the crimes she investigates, but she also has a dark past of her own that Olsen begins to unpack in this first book in the series. She's a fascinating character and she definitely has a lot to give as the series continues.Snow Creek, is, as the title suggests, set in the isolated area of Snow Creek. The descriptions of the setting are beautiful and I really felt as though I had been transported there for the duration of the novel. The sense of isolation and the attitude of some members of the Snow Creek community made me feel really uneasy and created an atmosphere that was full of tension.The plot of Snow Creek is quite complex, but Olsen has set the story out very well so that it all comes together in a satisfying way. There are a few twists and turns as it unfolds and I wanted to know what would happen.Snow Creek ends on a cliffhanger, and I look forward to seeing how the series continues!

Really thoroughly enjoyed this book, the main character is intriguing and its a great storyline, couldn't put it down once I started. Pre-ordered the sequel, can't wait for it.

I can't add to the headline comment. Well-written descriptive passages , but gripping it was not in my case.

This is the second Greg Olsen book ive read and enjoyed them both. However like another reviewer i get really annoyed when the book doesnt have a complete ending and you have to buy the next book to find our more of the Detectives previous life used throughout the book to keep you intrigued. Its a cheap trick to get you to buy the next in the series

Cannot put this book down! Interesting storyline all the way through...I am just in there with the characters. Definately up there in my top 5 books of 2020, and I probably get through at least 4 books a week ..am devouring every word, so happy that there are more books in the series. What a talent! 10*

First book by this author and they didn't disappoint. Definitely entertaining and gripping whodunit. I loved the direction, the characters and although predictable in places I didn't care because it was just perfectly delivered.Definitely going to get the next book.

greg olsen is my new author to go to hope there is a follow up to snow creek as i couldn't put it down stayed up till early hours till i finished it the ending was a bit strange so ireally hope there is a second book or snow creek will not make any sense cant wait to read it .in the mean time i wll try his other books

If Gregg Olsen’s name is on the book cover then you know it’s going to be good! “Snow Creek” doesn’t just draw you in. It SUCKS you in! When you first start reading you’ll think that it’s going to be a nice, pleasant read. Ha! That doesn’t last long. Right away, you’re flipping pages to find out what is going to happen next! Typical Gregg Olsen: FABULOUS!

This is the second book I have read with Megan Carpenter as a detective, I read the second one first but that didn’t matter as each book has a fabulous storyline!

I didn't get into it right away but somehow couldn't switch to something else until I finished it. Be warned - the ending is a hook to get the next in line but if it's like the first you won't regret. Really weird stuff in this one, which has me wondering about next one. I'm about to find out...

The characters seemed to be real....there are a few plot twists. I still want to know more about the main characters past!
