I have switched all our external Hard Drives to SSD, so I needed some enclosures for them. These 3.1 USB by Wavlink really are well made, fast and reliable, so far. I really like the smoke tint on the see through plastic enclosure. The Provided cable could be another 6-8 inches longer, so I will dock a star for a too short of provided cable. The plastic lid at 1st is really hard to remove and put back on, but after a few times sliding it back and forth, On & Off, it loosens up. For the price I really like them, so far I have bought 4 of these for our use.

I highly recommend this product to anyone who needs a simple and reliable way to expand their storage space. It is very affordable and worth every penny. It is one of the best hard drive enclosures I have ever used.

I purchased different one before I purchased this one other was more expensive but didn't work for me because it got super hot then I saw this one and it was best decision I made because it's very well made and the vents help cool down I'm very pleased with it and awesome customer service I would recommend above others and very affordable

Does the job well. Fast connection with USB 3 and works perfectly fine backwards with USB 2. Self powers itself fine with both iMac and PC laptop. Easy to pop in a SSD or HDD into this with no tools. Looks cool too.. imo 😜

Install directions are lacking - there's a second screw needed to properly seat the drive. That's mainly why only 4 stars.For most use cases, a micro SD or slim/fit USB flash drive are superior (even for portable Win10). The ONLY reason to buy this is you have an old SSD to repurpose. Not a knock on the product, just the former are much better form factors for marginally more money.Otherwise, it's a very nice portable device (at a great price) that reads/writes over 300MB+ per second. However, as with all drives like this, it can get very hot. But it's IDEAL if your old laptop died - I was able to reboot this SSD from my old dead laptop and recover everything, even use as a portable external bootable windows. Put more simply, use this to repurpose an old SSD to create a portable clone of your computer as a backup.

Slow but does work

Got this to put a 1tb HDD that would have been unused after a SSD boot drive swap. Was about as simple an installation as can be. The speed seems to keep up with whatever the HDD is, I’ve not noticed any major delays loading movies or music from the drive. The only two complaints I could give is the super bright blue light it has and that the enclosure materia is easily “scratched”

extrêmement simple à utiliser : mise en place immédiate des connecteurs, on glisse dans la boîte, on solidifie avec les deux vis et il n'y a plus qu'à brancher. Utilisé pour récupérer le contenu du DD d'un ordinateur dont le windows 7 a définitivement rendu l'âme. Transformé en DD externe il a permis de voir tous les fichiers vidéo à récupérer pour les copier sur un autre DD. Ensuite le disque du PC a été reformaté pour devenir un DD de sauvegarde. Et hop.

Sur le fonctionnel, rien à dire la liaison USB 3 fonctionne à pleine puissance. Aucune panne à froid ou à chaud pour le moment n'est survenue, c'est plutôt bon signe.Le montage du disque est assez simple à réaliser et une fois fixé et glissé dans son logement, il ne bouge pas. Le petit socle fourni pour le placement vertical sur bureau est également bien usiné, le disque ne bouge pas une fois en place.Seul bémol qui n'en est pas vraiment un, tout est en plastique, certes dur, mais pas très épais. Donc forcément il faudra être minutieux et éviter les gros chocs.
