Nice little UV light keeps humidifier reservoir clear of algae
Great little UV light. I put it in my home humidifier, which sits in my entryway, to eliminate algae growth in the water reservoir. I have now used it for a whole winter season here in Arizona, the water in the reservoir has remained perfectly clear, and the absorption pads in the humidifier have stayed incredibly clean, unlike in past years, just using RO water from my kitchen sink. This UV light was a great little purchase. Recommended. 6 Month follow-up: This little UV light worked great all winter (humidifier operating season), and kept our 8 gallon unit super clean and free of algae)

The Lamp Is Absolutely Effective and It Is A Great Buy
When you start reading the reviews, it just sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? One can feel very desperate and hopeless when sitting in front of pea soup that resists every effort at clearing and it is easy to find oneself grasping at straws. If you have not bought it yet, let me reassure you that it will work; the reason that there is no before or after photo is because I did not think that it would work and I thought I was grasping for a straw, the difference is nothing short of unbelievable. The instructions are in Chinese, however, given the apparent lack of detail, I doubt that they would be much good in English either. The control is self explanatory, on for a little, some, most, and all the time, unplugging the lamp is the off switch. The lamp goes in your filter with the instructions that would also work if you were putting a thermometer in there; that is, the lower the flow speed, the more contact time, the better the lamp will work. The lamp does not seem very bright at all, in fact, it doesn’t even shine bright enough that one might be fooled into thinking it might be Cherenkov radiation LOL! However, in the UV range, this lamp must be seriously bright because, in a matter of days, you will not believe your eyes! It also gets warm enough to maintain a nano open top aquarium over 80 degrees with the flow from a Penguin Pro 125 (WAY OVERKILL but short enough tube and BioWheel) so keep this in mind if you live somewhere hot (cool as well, it keeps the temperature with the windows open and the night in the low 50’s). I cannot recommend the product enough, it works and it works as good as all the reviewers who took photos of their neon green pea soup say that it will. I will add that you will need a very fine filter to catch all the dead algae or it will end up in your aquarium and you might end up with a few dead fish from the ammonia. Having said that, I can also say that the same filter could not keep up with the algae’s reproductive rate. The rinse water would come out kool aid green and I would put the pad in the microwave for 5 minutes to sterilize it and put it back in the filter to no avail.

bacteria bloom eraser
i have been struggling with a very foggy and thick milky white bacteria bloom in my ten gallon continuously. there were moments where it would improve, and then it was back to the thick white bacteria bloom again. i saw some suggestions at various places on the web to try a uv light so i decided to give it a try. i have had this uv light for only five days now and to summarize my thoughts so far: this is an excellently priced uv light and i wasn't looking for a fancy one with extra components, just one that i could add on to my current setup. i float the uv light (set on 24 hours) just right at the top of my hang on filter so the water passes over the uv light as it enters the aquarium and the results after only five days are just incredible. the aquarium has gone from being a completely opaque bacteria bloom where you could only see one inch in to completely clear where i can see everything. it's still putting the finishing touches on to reach the point of crystal clear, but i am completely happy with where it is now and can't wait to see how the next coming days look. even if it stays where it's at now, i am just jumping with joy. i can finally enjoy my aquarium again and see everyone that inhabits it again, and i'm quite confident that they enjoy it as much as me. if you are struggling with a completely white foggy bacteria bloomed aquarium like i did, i very highly suggest picking this up, setting it to 24 hours (make sure to just click it back to 24 hours every day, you can adjust after it clears it all up for you as well), drop it right at the top of your filter (so your inhabitants aren't exposed to it), and enjoy seeing your aquarium completely transform back to where it should be. i no longer fear bacteria blooms 3 week update: water is crystal clear

Seems to work, short Vac plug as shown
There is no info what voltage the bulb is, the transformer is not labeled as is legally required. No way to access wires to measure voltage or amps. Comments say 30Vdc but I can't confirm, wish it was 12Vdc. It seems to work. The timer will not remember settings and auto start after power interruption. I'm recovering from big algae bloom in 45gal outdoor pond. This was part of my other filter and chemistry improvements. 3 days later, water is crystal clear. I suspect I introduced algae spores from natural clear running water source. They exploded in the less active pond. Ran this for 3hrs in the external filter at about 1 gpm so about 4 pond volumes past the light in 3 hrs. I think it killed additional spores and filter took it all out. I would like to wire it into my filter pump circuit but not enough elec operating information to figure out how to adapt it to that. Very frustrating the transformer is not labeled as legally required, minus 1 Star :-( And the 120Vac cord is about 1 ft, 1 meter should be minimum and USA code might be 6ft.

1 week review, works amazing
Small enough to put in HOB filters. This is great for small tanks. I have 2 10 gallons near my plant room which runs grow lights through the winter and has some of my reptiles that have sun lamps. The tanks also houses bettas so the filters are not very strong. Preventing algae has been almost impossible. I hate using chemicals and don't want to black out the tank from the grow lights. This little UV light has been fantastic and I am buying them for all of my smaller tanks. The photos are 1 week apart. I didn't add anything else or do a water change that is just from the light.
