I am a big water drinker and I'm a bit of a water connoisseur. When I lived in Paris, my friend who is from there was purchasing all types of french brand waters. I thought that was weird but she said she liked the different flavors. It was then that I learned to drink water to appreciate its flavor. I have also done taste tests with bottled waters offered commercially, and it fun to do a blind test to see what your taste buds prefer, unaffected by the labels. So when I tried this water, the first word that came to me was 'sweet' . Ok, was I just thirsty? or swayed by the new bottle? So then tasted the filtered water that I have in my home. Whoa, big difference. The filter on this bottle is awesome. There is not one bit of chemical flavor or aftertaste. It's just lovely. I will warn you on first time use. There will be a little bottle with lubricant. This is to get the inner bottle to slide smoothly up and down. Trying to pull the inner sleeve out the first time is TOUGH. I was grrrr, and pulling and I thought if this is going to work like this it's a NO. But when I finally pulled it out, squinted at the directions once again, it made more sense what the lubricant was for! So no worries if you struggle the first time, after applying the lubricant it will be just fine. There is also a sliding of the filter to choose between filtering water and just filling it with whatever. That is too much work for me and I plan to use this bottle for filtering my drinking water so I'm not going to be moving it back and forth. Finally if you have ever wondered why this type of bottle was designed when there are so many filter straws that are very inexpensive, the reason is that sucking water out of a filter straw can be a workout when you just want a drink, or you want to filter water and share it.
