This CUTCO paring knife replaces a lost one which was part of my set. I learned never to take my CUTCO knives out of my kitchen. CUTCO blades are strong since they go entirely to the end of the handles and have three fasteners rather than only two. Their blades are especially sharp and hold up well through the years, maintaining their shine. The wood has a hard glossy finish unlike handles of any other brand I have seen. While the contour of this model differs slightly from that of my paring knife of the set from about 1973, it is close enough to blend with my original yet new looking set. This handle also has a contour conducive to easier cutting than most paring knives I have seen. They do cost more than most knives. While I have not followed the recent prices, I am thankful to have this knife and have put some Christmas money on it because I wanted it so much.
