Wizards of the CoastMagic: Gathering MTG-M21-SK-EN Arena Starter Kit Display

I can't exactly say there's value for money in buying starters but it's good for beginners like myself to get started and find a theme. The two cards at the front have some slight blemishes on them I suppose that can't be helped if they don't come in a wrapper. I can't compare these cards to older formats in terms of thickness, the quality of the cards feel acceptable to me.This would have been a 5/5 based on the fact it's exactly what I expected. I've dropped one star purely because the storage boxes you get with these starter packs will only fit all the cards in without sleeves. I think it's obvious that any trading card player/s will use sleeves to protect their decks, I've seen other starter decks come with slightly larger boxes (like my friends Chandra M21 started deck). The boxes come flat packed so lack of space isn't the issue, it's just lack of thought. For a beginner like myself who doesn't own a storage box and was counting in the storage boxes in this pack to protect my cards; i'm a little disappointed that i'll have to fork out extra cash if I want to keep my cards in a nice condition. Literally just an extra 4-6mm space would have been enough too.Other than that gripe (I feel is important based on what this product is for) I think the cards are great. I bought this to have a few two player games to see what the decks are like and what I could tweak to make a better deck and possibly even mix the two decks for other strategy's. I feel this dual deck accomplishes what I bought it for and i'm happy with the result.In short: This product is great if you want to have an immediate 2 player game out the box (with an added shuffle and maybe some dice or a dice app). If you don't have one already; buy storage box/s for the cards if you're planning on sleeving them up!

It's great for beginners. In my case I have experience but used it to teach someone who had never played and we are having a lot of fun.Decks are simple yet balanced and fun. They also include some useful cards if you want to upgrade to more competitive standard format decks later.

Das Magic The Gathering Starter Kit (MTG-M21-SK-EN) eignet sich perfekt für Anfänger, nicht allzu erfahrene Spieler und Diejenigen, die zu faul sind, um sich eigene Decks zu bauen. Ich selber würde mich nicht mehr als Anfänger bezeichnen, bin allerdings auch noch nicht so lange dabei.Grundsätzlich sind beide Decks gut aufgebaut und haben theoretisch ähnliche Chancen auf den Sieg. So oder so sind beide Decks nicht allzu schwer zu verstehen und zu meistern.Das grüne Deck, also Natur, setzt voll und ganz auf starke Monster, welche man zusätzliche mit verschiedenen Instant-Karten und Enchantmants verstärken kann. So kann man z.B. mächtige Kreaturen beschwören, dessen Werte zweistellig werden. Mit einer Trumpfkarte kann man seine Kreatur sogar derart stark buffen, dass diese über 20 Angriff hat. Dazu gibt es ein paar unterstützende Fähigkeiten, wodurch man Mana gewinnen kann oder welche, die einem ermöglichen, eine beliebige Kreatur zu tappen.Das schwarze Deck hingen kann nicht ansatzweise so mächtige Kreaturen nutzen. Schwarz nutzt fiese Effekte aus, um die Kreaturen des Gegners kampflos zu vernichten, den Gegner zu ärgern und Lifelink zu benutzen, um nicht nur die eigenen Lebenspunkte zu regenerieren, sondern im gleichen Atemzug die des Gegners zu verringern.Man merkt, dass das schwarze Deck weit mehr Möglichkeiten und Chancen auf den Sieg hat. Von 30 Duellen hat schwarz genau 20 gewonnen. Grün gewinnt also nur in jedem 3. Spiel. Man merkt aber auch, dass das schwarze Deck keine Chance hat, wenn es nicht schnell an genug Länder für Mana kommt. Kreaturen und Fähigkeiten, sowie Zauber, sind sehr teuer und man hat kaum eine Möglichkeit, kontrolliert an Länder zu kommen. Es gibt zwar ein paar Karten mit Scry (Hellsicht) genau dann an diese zu kommen, ist jedoch stark vom Glück abhängig.Was ich zudem schade finde ist, dass dem Kit lediglich ein einziger Code für MTG Arena beiliegt. Teilt man sich dieses Kit also mit einem Freund / Familienmitglied, kann nur einer von beiden diesen Code einlösen und bekommt dann beide Decks. Ich hätte es besser gefunden, wenn für jedes Deck einzeln ein Code beiliegt, damit ein einen Code einlösen kann und den anderen besagter Mitspieler.Die holografischen Karten (Kogla und Vito) haben in meinem Fall leider deutlich sichbare Printlines.

The last time I played MTG the iPhone hadn't been invented yet. In those days starter sets were appalling; bearing so few good cheep cards that it frustrated even newer players. Things have changed. The only nitpick would be that the green deck is noticeably stronger than the black deck.
