Well written...a different but captivating approach to analysing and explaining the fundamentals of harmony.

Simply a life companion

Don't waste (a lot) of money on this.I am a reasonable amateur pianist, choral and chamber singer with a good knowledge of music (G7/G8 on the ABRSM in piano/voice/theory). This book just did not do it for me at all. After having it weighing down my bookshelf (and literally that is true, it is so big and so heavy) for about 7 years and occasionally having another look to see if I could make sense of it, I finally chucked it out last week. I honestly think it is just jumbled mysticism put together while the author was high on a potent cocktail of many things, most of them probably illegal.I don't remember now why I bought it, I think it was something to do with an interest in tuning (equal temperament vs. other systems), but it didn't address that in any kind of systematic or comprehensible way that I could connect with.My only regret is that the heaviest book that I had for doing DIY "weighting down" jobs is gone now.
