Did I need to be reminded (and pay for the privilege) that I am getting older? Maybe I'm just less patient. I'm going to stick to online Scrabble and the cryptic crossword as a measure of how my brain is holding up.

ペーパーバックかと思ったら、割としっかりした装丁の本でカラーページだった。オレンジとかピンクで問題が縁取りされていて、かわいい感じ。それが意外と重要で、本を開くのが楽しい。気に入っています。25のテストがあって、それを各90分で解く、という風になっている。IQテストと言えば図形の問題が多かったような記憶があるけれど、数字を考えたり選び出す問題や、空白のアルファベット部分を埋めて単語を答える問題などがある。やはり英単語を答える問題はネイティブではないので難しいです。クイズ本と解釈して、時間の空いた時に気ままに問題を解く本として楽しんでいます。しかしこの装丁の本が6ドル程度で買えるとは。
