I like the size, the colored pictures, the binding allowing the book to lay flat as you are referencing it while sewing, etc.It is more detailed than I am good at sewing, but as I progress I know I will be utilizing it more.So so much good information in it. I particularly liked the photos and descriptions of how different fabrics are made and how that affects drape and sewability and how it wears.That alone is worth owning this book.This book is very technical with a lot of good information for all levels of sewists. Lots of variables included in how to customize patterns, but author recommends her book CREATE THE PERFECT FIT for more explicit details on pattern customizing.

There’s more information and how to that will help me understand and make my sewing more enjoyable and professional looking.

I have been sewing since I was a child. My grandma introduced me to the art of sewing. I grew to love it over the years. When my children were in grade school Imade all of their shirts.Now at 80, I still enjoy sewing, but sometimes having a problem I can refer to my wonderful book, Ultimate IllustratedGuide Guide to SEWING CLOTHES. Now I spend time making little girls dresses. The other day, I had a problem with buttonholes...so...out came my book and answers. Now if, as an older seamstress I can find answers, you as ayounger person will find everything you need in this book. Keep this book along with your machine book & warrantee book.Perhaps you have a friend or relative that can guide you. Give it a try, it is fun and you will surprise yourself with your creations.

It is OK, but lacks some information on men's pants.

The media could not be loaded. This book is great. The illustrations are super helpful. I just started sewing and this book has some great information that details so many aspects of sewing. It explains fabric types, threads, patterns, stitches, tools, and so much more. I highly recommend it.

I purchased the spiral bound version doe a reference guide. It’s not as complex as an online video, but as a handy reference it’s easy to keep open for tips. If you get it, it’s worth the cost of spiral bound just for not have to mark pages and try to keep a real book open while using it as a reference.
