I know Calanetics over 3 decades, and loosing the old version, needed to order a new book.The exercise program is super-efficient, delivering the results it promises - changing your body totally.Over the years of sports (fitness, Ashtanga yoga, running, Pilates), this is the fundamental program which I’m preserving constantly.

Back & other pain sufferers
Im a 55 ur old women who got this book simply to remind me of the actual routine which I used to do years ago. Note: If you’ve not done Callanetics before, personally, I’d suggest getting a visual workout because you need to do them properly & a visual guide will teach you how. Don’t be fooled they’re not easy. Also do get the original dvd with ‘callan pickney’ herself showing the exercises. They’re a bit funny old hat like (80s) but in my opinion her way is the best way. She did create the exercises after suffering her entire life with back & other physical problems TBF. I’ve also suffered many years with a back strain injury at 18yrs old & from then on I’ve been restricted & unable to do many exercise classes as a result. Even had to uses crutches in more recent years. If only occasionally, because of severe back spasms. I discovered this exercise in my 20s & my body thanked me for it. The results on my all around body strength & posture & my figure where incredibly. Joy.. an exercise that I could do with grand results. Naturally the most important thing to me at that age, was my figure & it really was great all over. Looking back & More importantly, I didn’t have problems with my back. With 3hrs a week & no problem for several years after stopping the exercises in fact. Now 30 years on…no exercises since, my back hips neck & shoulders are stiff & I walk awkwardly again. I struggle to get up off my sofa too. My body feels old & surly will get worst over time. So I’ve purchased the book to begin theses exercises again. Not a care theses day for my figure but to ez the pains. Even after my first, very very slow attempt, I felt a great stretched feeling all over. The joy. That same feeling I felt years ago. It’s reminded me why I loved this experience so much. In this book there’s other exercises in the content that I’ve not seen before. But I’ve missed these out. (Wow it’s hard enough & those others look real tuff) so I’ll pass for now thanks. Like I said, I used to do this workout using an actual ‘video’ (yes that long ago) & used this book to remind me of the routine. Having done these exercises many times I can remember the correct position & precise teeny movements required. This is an old workout & position + mini movements really are not easy. Perhaps here the saying”they don’t make em like they used to” can be applied to this workout. It amazed me in the past how well it works & the results blew me away. Don’t worry if you can’t do all the moves or all the repetitions. I can’t do them all yet. Ive done only what I can manage. That’s the beauty of this routine ie: do it at ur own pace. I know I’ll get stronger in time & it will become easier. So again a visual platform of these exercises is my advice. Once you’ve mastered the exact positions & the‘tinker bell’ movements , you won’t need to use any prompts. So it doesn’t matter that the original is old or funny. You’ll be able to do them with tv radio or whatever on & the results are so amazing in every way, it will inspire you, like me, to carry on. As I’ve said I’m doing this because if fed up with back neck hip & shoulder pains & the older I get the tighter everything feels. Yet 3 times now, I’ve done this & not managed all repetitions I may add. Not even close in fact Yet I can honestly say, I feel an improvement all over💪 Great right.💪For me that’s is enough to make me carry on 😊 if ur young u will get the greatest figure if u do the exercises correctly. I did. But for me right now… here’s to the easing of my pain & feeling strong again 🤞

The first Copy of Callanetics received was in the wrong language
I wanted this book because I find the exercises exceptionally effective at keeping one strong and flexible with a very small time investment. I am waiting for my second copy. The first that arrived was in German and not useable by me. I am still waiting for the fulfillment of my 2nd order. This is the first time I have had any difficulty with any sellers on Amazon and I received an apology and a refund within 3 days of letting them know.

Better instructions than dvd
I bought this book to go along with the dvd. There are a few more exercises in the book than the dvd. I also like to read the instructions before doing the workouts. It's a program that works!
