Excellent paddle, really delivers power and touch

I had great expectations for this Onix React Pickleball paddle based on the positive reviews.I was looking for a heavier paddle to help drive the ball further down the court, particularly when playing upwind.Sadly I never even took this to the court - the quality of manufacture is terrible.Perhaps I was unlucky enough to get a factory 2nd (I did pay full price), who knows, but this paddle would not pass the basic quality control standards.The handle binding is loose and poorly wrapped, there are glue blobs on the paddle to hold the edge binding down - and it just looks beat up, fresh out the packet.Purchased a carbon fiber Prolite Titan Pro (amazing quality) and returned this Onix to Amazon.

This is a replacement for my Pro-Lite Titan Black Diamond paddle. With the Pro-Lite, I found many of my dinks falling short (usually hitting the white tape). With this React paddle, many more shots fall into the opponents' kitchen. I think it's because it's just a bit stiffer. I play more of a power game...with drives and slams, mostly because I'm impatient and/or lack the touch to consistently find the kitchen. This paddle has improved my game. Beware, it is slightly on the heavy side so weak shoulders be warned.

I have only been playing for 1 year and my wife had been playing for a couple years. Bought her this racket and she loved it. I had been trying out various rackets to see if any of them really made a difference in my game. I decided to give this racket a try and found it to have the perfect weight and has a great sweet spot. Great for all aspects of the game but the most improvement was in my serves.

I have a big hand and many paddles do not provide enough length in the handle to allow me to fully grip the paddle; this paddle fits. Weight is good for me. No magic elixir for shot making but good spin control for an intermediate 82 year old player.
