Integrates perfectly with my Garmin watch
I have a non-Garmin heart rate strap that works perfectly well, though the HRM-Pro integrates perfectly with my Garmin 945 so for me it just made sense to get. The added metrics to my run data that the strap provides is useful as well.UPDATE, this one failed on me very recently. I had registered it with Garmin and replacement was as easy as contacting Garmin via email. Garmin cross-shipped my new monitor and shipping of the old one to Garmin was free. 5 Star product rating remains as things happen and Garmin offered me fantastic customer service. If I have another failure my rating will change.LAST UPDATE, Replacement from Garmin failed in pretty much the same manner the original did. Very disappointing. Began as erratic and/or high HR readings then issues with being recognized by my Garmin 945 and Android phone Garmin App. Perhaps it's me though I have no idea as to how that would be. I've had an inexpensive but very reliable bargain HR monitor/strap for over 2 years and have returned to using it....28.00 on Amazon BTW. I'm done with the Garmin integrated strap/monitors.

get one!
The HRM pro is awesome. buyers should however know that running dynamics require this device to be connected using ANT+. as a heart rate monitor you can use it with Bluetooth to your phone but your will not get any of the running dynamics. this device was the fastest pairing device I've ever seen. it paired with my phone literally the second i pressed pair. the same stands true for pairing with my Fenix 6x. in all it took me longer to get it out of the box then it did to pair to my watch and phone.

Less expensive… same product?
It’s so weird why this one is less expensive and it comes with 5 batteries. You will probably lose these batteries before you’ll need to use them but that’s besides the point haha. So far it works great with no issues. Still confused on the price cut… 🤔🧐

treat it as a disposable item
The strap works great until the battery needs to be changed and then it is pretty much done. Garmin finally fixed the issue with the old units and put in metal sleeves to seat the screws holding on the battery cover but it is still disappointing. I do maintenance on a lot of items, change out the batteries in my watches, etc. and know the importance of keeping the o-ring in place as well as getting a tight fit for the battery cover, so I'm comfortable that I can/did replace the battery correctly. The unit failure seemed to coincide with the HRV update that came to my Fenix 6X and contacted customer support to discuss but never got the promised follow up email from Garmin.$130 is a lot for something that should last longer than the battery life. I don't recommend the purchase unless you are comfortable spending that much on something that will have to be replaced in 8-12 months, depending on the battery life.
