BotanCalrose Brown Rice, 15-Pound

This is my favorite brown rice. I cook this in large batches in my electric pressure cooker using a 1:1 ratio of water to rice and for 15 minutes. The rice turns out fantastic - it's as close to white rice in texture and taste as I can get, without sacrificing health benefits that come with brown rice. I freeze 2-cup servings that can be defrosted for a quick meal, and I have never had an undercooked or bad grain that I noticed.For some reason, none of the stores near me carry this brand of rice in brown rice (although almost every grocery store has Botan white rice...), so I turned to Amazon for the purchase. It arrived quickly, and I will likely reorder when I run out of my current bag. Great buy!

I reordered this Calrose brown rice even though the second bag had dead moths in it because the taste was good and the price was right. Thinking it was a fluke, I ordered a third time. The bugs were much moreapparent this time. The pix show a cobweb-like structure with egg casings in it, and the other two pix are closeups of insect body parts which were all thru the bag, not just on top. It is nonreturnable but I felt people should be aware of my experience.

A clean transaction. Definitely the why to by bulk dry goods. I'm storing them in seal mason jars and I'm about half way through the lot.

Love love this rice. Good quality rice. Some brown rice has a nasty taste, but this one taste good.

Great rice. The white one tastes way better though but this is supposedly healthier.
