This are really bright lights, but I should have read the description better
This are great lights , I bought 3 of them from Lowes and need three more so I ordered from here. The look was the same and the 18LM but these are 50k and the one from Lowes was 40k . I do like the 50k so much better.

This light is extremely bright for it's size!
edit: The plant i put on my workbench is thriving! This light works fantastic as a grow light. Before risking one of my plants i decided to try out a seedling. If there isn't adequate light, the seedling would have gotten very tall and leggy but that did not happen. Seedling stayed small and compact and has grown a nice set of starter leaves. Obviously the light isn't marketed as a grow light but I am going to be using it for my seedlings every spring now that I have seen the results.original review: I'm using the light for my workbench in my basement and it is great! The light starts dissipating the further you get from it, so if you have a large area you may want a couple. For the corner with my work bench, it is perfect. It feels like i'm working outside in the sun! I think it may even work as a grow light for plants and intend on putting one of my house plants down there to see how it does. The spectrum is the same, but only time will tell! Overall, i am very pleased with this light!

Well Designed, Low Profile, Very Bright
These lights are super bright and look better than the traditional fluorescent light fixtures. They are made to hang on chains which will enable you to mount them anywhere in the garage. Since these lights do not weigh a lot and weight is distributed in the 4 corners you may use dry way anchors to hang these. Mr Mittens gives it 5 stars.Thank you for taking the time to read my review and photos of this product. Excellent quality for the price
I am very picky about color temperature when it comes to LED lighting. 4500K to 5000K is my preferred sweet spot for general purpose lighting and especially for task lighting. A more comfortable color temperature for around the house is 3500K to perhaps 4000K. Anyways, I have seen a lot of manufacturers claim 5000K in particular but in reality it is around 7000K, which I find intolerable. I can happily report that this light delivers an excellent color temperature and seems very close to 5000K to my eyes.I have included a picture of my temporary installation in my workshop. After deciding that I liked the positioning of the light, I went ahead and installed proper conduit, wiring, and mounting. If you are considering mounting this unit up high (as it is intended), I would highly recommend you consider 15K Lumen, 18K Lumen, 24K Lumen, and 30K Lumen models. They will give you more flexibility and more light should you discover you need it. The 12K Lumen model I tested (as well as all of the other models I just mentioned) have the ability to dim, when simply wired up to a 0-10V DC dimmer! You can buy the big dog 30K Lumen model and dim it down to the same brightness level as the 12K Lumen model, all while increasing the life of the light fixture. Need more light that you originally thought? No problem! When it comes to build construction and design safety, it is better than I expected. I have very high standards, since my history when it comes to high bay lights are luminaries wholly manufactured by Cree. I was impressed what this $90 unit offers considering that the Cree units I have previously dealt with cost over $800 per unit!

Bright and very useful
Look for my bedroom light I am more interested in a warmer color temperature but when I get in a work area like my woodworking shop or garage, I want all the brighter light I can get. So, for comparison a standard four-foot fluorescent bulb puts out 2850 lumens per bulb. This fixture puts out 12,000 and not only that it is at 5k on the brightness white balance scale. This fixture is designed to be put on a high ceiling, but I have another fixture at 20,000 lumens that is just like this one in my garage, and it illuminates the whole garage which is a 2 car in width. This one is way more compact than that. The fact that it is LED is huge because the amount of light it puts out compared to the electricity it uses blows the doors off of fluorescent bulbs. Plus, LED's have a usage life that is many times as well. I got so tired of replacing 4-foot fluorescents in my shop, garage, and attic I wound up throwing all of them out. Actually, I sold the shells as a pile.I'm going to be using this in my storage shed. It's a 10' x 14 foot. Just one of these fixtures provides a lot more light than is needed. It's going to be great to be able to see what I am doing even during the evening hours.

Kickass light in a compact size
- Made in MalaysiaWe have a few other Lithonia items and we've always been quite happy with them. This one fits right into that expectation. As far as looks, it's fine but I'm more interested in performance. I wanted this for our home wood working shop. I requested the 12k lumen version and it's still overkill for our use. I love it, though. We have an area for upright sheet wood storage and it's always dark, no matter how many lights we have on. With this, however, we can actually see.I'm rather shocked at how a light this size can put out that much light. It is very nice to not have a hanging monstrosity, especially since it's only 18' high.Very happy with it.Don't forget to use the Smile.Amazon.com address - It's an Amazon program where many everyday things you buy will generate a small donation from Amazon to the charity of your choice at no cost to you.
