Unfinished Tales: Of Numenor and Middle-Earth

It arrived yesterday and I haven't put it down. The 18 new illustrations from Ted Nasmith, John Howe and Alan Lee are amazing and the finish on the book is to an exceptional standard. The publishers have outdone themselves. There is a seperate map of Beleriand as well as a new illustration. This is a must buy for Tolkien fans.

This is a great edition of Unfinished Tales in which the illustrations really add to the words. It's is very well made. Unfinished Tails is a collection of writings by JRR Tolkien for fans who want to know more about Middle Earth and the deep history behind more well known works such as Lord of the Rings.

If you already know Tolkien, then this is essential reading. Christopher Tolkien can command the same Miltonic style as his father can. It doesn't matter whether the Tale is by himself or his son, the same impact draws you into the magic world where the willing suspension of disbelief takes you straight to Middle Earth.
