It works. That is about it.
It does what it is meant to do.Feels cheap.Cut out edges could? should have been more rounded/smoothed out.Not sure how it'll handle somewhat a heavier weight.

Pin keeps failing out
Decent aluminum. Pin keeps falling out. Hopefully it doesn't fall out when I have boiling water in the pot

Just What I Needed
Perfect for my application. Strong yet compact enough to stow inside my MSR pot. I have a couple stainless steel bowls that I nest inside my 1.6 liter MSR stowaway and this lifter is a perfect fit. Seems like it should last a lifetime with reasonable care. Weighs next to nothing yet is strong due to the way it's fabricated. The design of the gripping surface should also be great for not digging into the insides of non stick pots as well. This lifter easily grabs hold of a simple can of chili or whatever in case you feel like heating up your grub without a pot. Using reward points from my Amazon Chase card, I only paid like $3 for it too! Great piece of useful gear for the money. As a side note, the 1.6 liter MSR fits nicely in the MSR fry pan to make a really handy cook kit. I store it all together in a black drawstring shoe bag. Hope this helps someone. :)

I wish I knew about this sooner!
I went on an extreme campout with my son. When we camped, he got the fire started. Needed to boil water in one of those aluminum pots that come with a mess kit. The one with a curved pivoting wire handle. You know what I mean. Well, let me tell you...It was like a scene for Laurel & Hardy, or, Abbott & Costello. Tried to pick it up with the handle and it would tip and spill practically putting out the fire, plus the fact it was hot. tried lifting with a rag on the handle, same thing. It was a comedy of errors. I never gave thought their might be an easier way till I went on a Wilderness Campout with fresh scouts and was demonstrating different fires to make to facilitate cooking. I was demonstrating with same said pot and lamented how hard it was to pick up without spilling the contents when one of the scouts presented this handle. Imagine my embarrassment. So this thing is great. I cannot believe that they do not supply this with the mess kit. That is inexcusable! As a matter of fact, this handle fits nicely in the pot. This handle is indispensable.
