Excellent read
I bought this book because I wanted to learn how to crochet,I’ve been putting it off for years so I finally decided to learn, this book is really helpful and by using pictures step by step it ensures that you are heading in the right direction. I’ve only been crocheting for 1 week and I’ve already learnt several different patterns. This book is a must for anyone wanting to learn a new skill. I thought at 50 I wouldn’t be able to learn a new skill but this book makes it possible and I’m so glad I purchased it.

Great book to learn to crochet
I find you can't good wrong with DK books. This book has simplified instructions on how to learn to crochet and I am determined I will overcome and master this skill. I like knitting, but from time to time, I do come across crochet patterns which are just amazing, which I drool over and wish I could make. This book has projects to make as you progress along and shows you how to read crochet patterns and other required techniques are explained with clear instructions. The photos are in colour throughout and make learning the craft easy to understand.Would recommend.

Marvellous
I already have the two companion books - the Knitting Book and the Sewing Book and this third title did not disappoint. It does not matter if you are an expert or a complete beginner, there is plenty in this book to interest you. Really good item that will be useful for years.

Useful manual of technique and stitches
Clear text and helpful photos and diagrams. Comprehensive cover of techniques, stitches, and projects. But, the layout is a bit random. I'd have liked all the stitch types in one section referenced to sample projects but not mixed up with them....found myself jumping back and forth with random layout

Beautiful book, with many techniques and useful patterns within.
I only recently (last Winter I think) learned to crochet, and whilst it is useful watching videos to learn crochet stitches, I find it preferable to a hard copy book that's clearly written, especially if there are photos to show you are working correctly. The book starts off (after the tools section) demonstrating the basic crochet techniques for complete beginners, and in my opinion they are well illustrated clear instructions. Further on there are various patterns, everything from hats, scarves and mittens to a rug, cat basket and toys. The paper it's printed on is premier bright white paper, which is great if you have allergies/asthma (I've noticed low quality rough paper gives me asthma as well as yellowing badly over time). It really is a beautiful book if you enjoy crochet as there's something for all levels, it would also make a lovely gift, although you would probably need to give it in person or have it delivered to the recipients address, as this is a very large hard backed book, about the same size as an encyclopaedia, so would be pricey to post.
