Makes the hardest part, easy.
This book simplifies overhauling ones diet. My daughter and I wanted to try one month of plant based eating, but I was worried trying to pull together a weeks meal plan and shopping list in a manner I'm not accustomed to. This book was a life saver and helped me really learn and adjust to eating solely plant based. Having a complete shopping list took the hardest, most daunting part of it and made it simple. The recipes are easy and quick with room for adjustments for personal tastes. Were on week 6 now (no plans of stopping) and I credit this book as a tasty and helpful introduction to eating healthier.

Mostly love!
I despise coming up with a meal plan—so when my partner & decided to go back to plant-based eating, I inwardly groaned because as the family cook I knew this would fall on my shoulders. This book was a LIFE SAVER! A full month’s meals with shopping lists, recipes AND using leftovers?!?! Hell yes! Great concept along with great foods! It took a lot off of my plate (pun intended) and provided so much variety that the meals were never boring.HOWEVER, a few things to consider with some minor complaints:1. Bland - although a wonderful variety of dishes, I found the spices lacking. I had to add quite a bit more in order to get the taste I was hoping for. Also, make extra sauce! Otherwise some of your foods may be a little dry (I’m looking at you, pasta plates!)2. Portions - most say 2 or 4 servings. However, there were times where the sizes were lacking & left us hungry (maybe having to do with a calorie deficit as another reviewer noted), or it made much more than 4 (darn pasta dishes again! They made 6 servings, so had to freeze the remainders). So be aware you made need to adjust.3. Costly - as a house of 2 people, we have a food budget & are used to shopping strictly at cheaper groceries (ie, Aldi) to save money. However, many of the ingredients require other stores, including the higher end Whole Foods, which caused the bill to shoot up to around $200/week. I swear I could hear my bank account groaning every time I pulled out the debit card, lol.4. Time - if the adults in the house work all day, then expect to occasionally prep the night before AND make the evening’s meal. After working all day, the poor brain & body need a reprieve. Needless to say, leftover nights were a sigh of relief. While there are obviously things I’d change (I made notes in my book for when I re-use recipes), I still appreciate that this book cut out the hardest parts of figuring out my meals. So all in all, I’m happy with my purchase and being back to plant-based eating!

An essential cookbook for new plant based eaters
Recipes I’ve tried so far all taste so good! I have yet to try one that I don’t like. I like that the grocery list and the recipes complement one another in the sense that no food is wasted since you use them for at least two different menus for the week. It is really helpful for both novice and expert cooks. I’m pretty adventurous in the kitchen and my roommate is totally terrified with cooking but even she was able to make the cauliflower fajitas with no problem and she was so happy with the way the instructions were written out. I was happy she can help me with cooking. Highly recommended!

One of my favorite plant-based cookbooks!
Sara Tercero (aka BetterFoodGuru) is one of my favorite plant-based chefs on Instagram, so it's no surprise that I love her new cookbook as well. If anyone can inspire plant-based eating, it's definitely her.Her new cookbook sets forth an easy to follow, enticing strategy for adopting a plant-based diet. And it's not all tofu and tempeh (although they're in there and good as well). Sara uses plenty of legumes and vegetables in really creative ways. My favorite might be her Broccoli & "Cheddar" Soup which cleverly uses butternut squash, sweet potatoes, nutritional yeast and miso to mimic a traditional cheese sauce. It's pretty amazing!

Good info and recipes, but...
The book contains wonderful and creative recipes and excellent information for those learning about the Whole Food Plant-Based lifestyle. However, the font size and type used is terrible. While chapter titles and headings are in boldface, the type in the text and recipes is so much lighter and smaller that it is very hard to read. The photographs of the individual dishes are well done and appetizing to look at so it is a huge disappointment to find I must struggle to read the text. I am most likely going to return this book and hope for a paperback edition in the near future.

great for meal prep!
i’m an avid meal prepper so i’m always hunting for recipes. i love this book because it has tons of recipes that use the same ingredients for a week- so you can buy/cook in bulk & waste less. especially as a 1 person household this is amazing! none of the recipes are hard technically, it’s def beginner friendly. all very healthy & can easily add meat if you wished!
