Go Vacation delivers more sports simulations in the style of Wii Sports Resort and keeps surprising us with fun mini games and challenges. I've played with my 9 year old son and his friends and my friends and their families. We've played for hours at a time, laughed, explored, and just enjoyed the getaway experience. I play with the game projected on a large screen about 3 meters across by 2 high which helps us immerse in the resort environment and maintains a playable screen size in 4 player mode. I'm an avid water sports and snow sports enthusiast in real life, so I was pleased with the variety of activities that kept to realistic simulations (within the limitations of the console of course). A true hidden gem for the Wii - There are so many mini-game collections on the Wii that it becomes exhausting looking through all the titles. But this one is uniquely different than those. Go Vacation all takes place on the fictional Kawawii Island. This is an actual open world experience. Yes, there are lots of mini-games, and some of them are lots of fun. But for me, the fact that you can explore everything on your own, using transportation like ATVs, water cruisers, inline skates, horses, cars, etc to do so at your own leisure is freaking amazing. And there is so much to do and see on your own without playing any of the games. The island is huge, with 4 different resorts. Cruise in the ocean, all around the island on water cruisers through coves, waterfalls and jump the waves. You'll see dolphins, whales and other marine life interact with you. Take a stroll through the huge shopping mall. Ride trolleys around the city island. Ride the ski lifts in the snow resort and watch polar bears and wildlife below. Ski or bobsled down. Ride the train in the mountain resort that takes you around the entire resort and sightsee. Explore caves. Do anything you want. The game is very polished with (for the Wii) surprisingly stunning graphics and details. Potentially hours upon hours of mellow exploration all at your own pace. You start with access to only one resort but if you follow your tour guide through the mini-games, you get stamps to unlock the rest of the resorts. Best of all, you don't have to win any of the games, just try the suggested mini-game and lose and you still win a stamp! And a cool way to sample everything. You can use your Mii character or create a new avatar. But it's so cool using your Mii and watch it frolic around the island 🏝️. This is absolutely a true hidden gem for the Wii!
