OOF. I don't even know where to begin here.In case you don't understand why this is so gross, it's not Lady Loki at all. It's the character of Loki, who has possessed a female body which belonged to someone else. And this was celebrated as some sort of gender triumph, LOL. This is the dangerous allegory which incites violence against trans women, that they are allegedly not "real" women but are just *stealing* feminine identity at the expense of cis women. Utterly horrible and lazy writing there.I know this came prior to Ewing's much better conceptualizations, but come on! You're gonna throw that old trope around at genderfluid and trans people so flippantly? This had great potential but that plot point destroyed pretty much everything about it.This trash probably led to why we saw such an ABYSMAL gender coding in the screen adaptation this year. Thanks a lot, Marvel. Maybe this one should just go quietly out of print to spare future readers.Another reviewer also mentioned how oversexualized the women are, and yeah. It's an accurate jab. I like good, strong femme fatales who are confident in their bodies too, but … this was indeed ridiculous.
