Why is the company recommending a 1300 watt power supply over the 1600 watt power supply ?

The manufacturer is recommending any power supply that can support at least 1300 watts. They offer their own 1600-watt PSU, but most home-users can't use it due to the 205v+ requirement. If you have 205v+, then the AntMiner 1600-PSU is definitely the best option.

The manufacture recommended power supply unit (PSU) is APW3+-12-1600W (Cost $150). This connects to a 220 outlet. You can also us a EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 G2 (Cost $310). This connects to a 110 outlet.
