Can you program the shutoff time or is it always 72 hours? I see answers saying the shutoff time is programmable but the doc indicates it is fixed.

If you set X only then it will stay off until the sponge in the transmitter gets dry. If you see X 72 then it will stay off starting with the rain and then turn on after 72 hrs.

My sprinkler system will not turn on since installing the rain sensor. What did i do wrong or How can I turn off the rain sensor?

There are two ways the controller works to prevent watering. 1. Seasonal adjustment which uses the local forecast. 2. Rain gauge My system was not watering because the local forecast called for rain but I was not getting any rain. I disabled the season adjustment to resolve this. The rain gauge will show how much water the lawn actually received. I brought my sensor in the house to make sure it was dry. Once dry I placed the sensor back in the yard. It has been working correctly.
