Phenominal photo book!
Not only did I get a swingin' deal on the 3 tattoo-related books I ordered (including THIS one), but they all arrived asap, and were WELL worth the low moolah. This Mammoth Book of Tattoos is a great clear-picture showcase of dozens of tat artists from numerous countries. There are several pages of super-nice work from each artist represented, and such a rich variety of styles as to be mind-boggling. I insist you get this book for inspiration, reference, and awe. Tho thick with pages, the smaller dimensions of the book do not diminish the quality of art within. If you are interested in tattoos, but don't get this book then you must hate your parents and eat puppies. Boo-yah. --Spider McClintock, Five-Star Tattoo Co.

A Quantity of Quality!
The Mammoth Book of Tattoos is a stunning collection of artwork from a conglomerate of select tattoo masters of this generation. Most of the artwork featured in this book is in the styles of modern and Japanese tattoo art, so the variety is slightly limited, but all the photographs are in full color and dazzling quality which really draws you into the depth and detail of each tattoo.Very little information is offered on the art of tattooing and the artists themselves, but the pictures speak volumes and offer a story that is, perhaps, not possible in the form of the written word. I have absolutely no negative comments about this book. Of all the tattoo-related literature I have collected thus far, The Mammoth Book of Tattoos is by far my favorite to look at again and again.

The Mammoth book of tattoos
Th book contains amazing and stunning visuals of multiple artist's and displays a wide range of styles. However the binding of the book was poor to say the least. I bought it new and after about 5 min of flipping through it i realized the pages were separating from the spine.Still the high quality and full color visuals make up for the binding.

Fantastic tattoo book
First I challenge the 'mammoth' part of the title. This books includes a lot of tattoos and tattooers in it, but the books itself is rather small. I was thinking coffee table size and this is not. My mistake for not reading the spec as well as I should have. That said the books instead is great. It has a large number of tattooers in it from Europe, the US and OZ and some of the amazing tattoos they make. It also covers pretty much all the genres, from classical, sailor Jerry, Japanese, American old school and so on. For the price you get more good tattoo pictures in this book than any other I've seen. And short bios of the tattooers making them.

Good content, terrible binding.
This book contains 72 artists in all spread over 447 pages. Each artist has one page describing how they got started in tattooing/why they got interested/personal background, and then a few pages showing examples from their portfolio. Each portfolio shows pictures of tattoos ranging from full body to small tattoos. All pictures are on real people and are shown on a black background. There is a wide range of tattoo styles shown in the book, from cartoon-y to very realistic portrayals. At the back there is a list of their respective websites so you can check out more of their stuff. The content of the book IS quite interesting and I would buy from this company again if there is more content like this. However, the binding is terrible. I flicked through the pages (carefully!) over the course of two nights when I first received it. That next morning when I went to move the book, the pages felt bottom heavy, and that was because the binding is basically gone. The pages are now stuck together very flimsily and I have to be VERY gentle with it in order for it to stay together. The binding looks like very basic glue, so no wonder. I wish it was bound better, because I really do like the content.

Awesome!
Having always been fascinated with tattoos (especially well done ones) I have now finally decided to get one. While I have an idea of what I want, I picked up this book ,once I saw all the positive reviews for it, to give me some more ideas. I got it today and have already looked about halfway through it.There is some fantastic work here and it just goes to show that, in the case of some of these pieces, the possibilities are endless. In some cases these move from being just "tattoos" to actual artwork. It is incredible.

Love tattoos,hated this book.
It's not what I was expecting,it's a bunch of pictures of people with not that good of tattoos. The binding in the book was horrible I looked at the book twice and it's already falling apart. It has a few nude-ish pictures,I don't care for that.I'm probably going to throw it away. It's not worth $13.I payed $20 total for it.I wanted to return it and all I could do was turn it in for a $5 gift card. It's stupid.I don't think I'd ever order another "Mammoth Book" again.Look elsewhere for better tattoo books.

Hard To Put Down
This was hard to put down. No, it wasn't a literary thriller or anything. But the pictures are fascinating and so colorful. I bought this as a gift for a tattoo enthusiast and found myself paging through before I gave it away. It was just a very cool book to look at. The recipient really liked it and I can see it as a coffee table book for the alternative person or it would be very neat to have in a tattoo parlor.
