The Dumpling Sisters Cookbook: Over 100 Favourite Recipes From A Chinese Family Kitchen Paperback – November 21, 2017

The Dumpling Sisters have been recommended to me by a friend for whom the cookbook is no 1 go-to source of Chinese recipies. Reluctant at first as the word dumplings spelt complication for me, I finally bought the book and found it extremely useful. The recipes are easy to make and you can always visit the authors' website for more tips and video instructions. And they use the metric system, which is definitely a plus for non-Anglo Saxon users.

This cookbook will reveal why recipes from other Chinese cookbooks don't taste as good as better restaurant Chinese. The recipes, ingredients and techniques are clearly explained and easy to follow. The ingredients can be found in grocery stores in most mid and large communities. In my experience,mainstream grocers aren't the best source. If you can't find the ingredients locally you will online. Enjoy.

The book is very nice, recipes, pictures, good content. I got the kindle edition and find it very difficult to navigate back and forth to follow the ‘more information’ links....so one star down for that....

Such an adorable pair of sisters... their recipes and beautifully written and fun to make. I do wish there were more dumpling recipes, but I’m enjoying the variety of dishes in this cookbook nonetheless. Highly recommended for honing your dumpling skills.

This book offered recipes not common in other Chinese cookbooks, in addition to the "secret" of bicarbonate in meat tenderization- something frequently omitted from most contemporary Chinese cookbooks. Overall, it was a refreshing read.

So many kudos to this talented pair... where do I start?? I've loved watching them on Youtube and now their cookbook has become one of our kitchen's top go-to sources for delicious recipes. My husband and I are so picky about Chinese takeaway, we don't typically order in. Now, we just make our favorite and new ones at home - thanks to Amy and Julie. Can't wait for the next book!

This is a delightful book will put together except for the print: instructions and ingredients etc. are all in a smaller VERY light ink print which is difficult to read.

Easy steps recipes, ingredients explained, real home cooking Cantonese/ Hong Kong style with not the usual "chef" fuss, plenty of colored pictures. This is a very nice surprise. I did a few successful recipes. It's good to check the recipes and the youtube videos of the Dumpling sisters at the same time to check some steps and how some techniques are done. I feel we are cooking the recipes they did in their mum's kitchen as children. This is for me a big plus. I think it's the home comforting side of HK cuisine. You don't need to have knife skills or already be a wonderful cook to achieve the dish put in front of you. The book is old, from 2015, and I wonder what the two sisters are up to now? More books I hope.

I bought this cookbook after following one of the Dumpling Sisters video recipes for Market Chicken Fried Noodles online. I liked their attitude and the fact that the recipe turned out perfectly: flavorful, yet light and fresh. In fact, every recipe I have tried since the first one has been light and lovely and straight-forward. It's a delightful and smart cookbook and I couldn't be happier with my choice for authentic Chinese recipes simply explained so even a clumsy cook like me is successful every time.

Hanno confezionato una piccola guida alla cucina cinese per non addetti ai lavori, bellissime foto e tante spiegazioni utili sugli ingredienti meno ortodossi per un occidentale.Loved this book, the Dumpling Sisters packed their book with beautiful pictures, anedoctes and explanations about the most exotic ingredients used in their kitchen. Great book for those who are not used to cooking chinese food.
