Slightly offbeat set of colours that worked well.
So this is a set of beginners watercolours. They come in a tin box with an inlay to keep them in place along with a waterbrush and a blank sheet to make your own swatch.Firstly, you'll need a decent brush. although the brush included is vaguely useful a quality simple brush will work a lot better than this. The paints claim to be hand poured. Not sure what this brings to the table, but what I will say is that in their pans a lot are very dark and you'll need the swatches to be able to tell what colour you are picking up. I painted the swatches first - see picture one - you can see the selection of colours, including such offbeat colours as fluorescents and metallics, not often found in watercolour sets. All the colours needed a good watering to get them going at strength, another reason for having a conventional brush and pot of water, but once wetted painted well.Curiosity led me to try out the fluorescents (called neons by the manufacturer) under UV light to see if they were and see if other brighter colours had fluorescent pigments in them. You can see the results in the second photo. The blue (top right) is a bit of a disappointment, but the others glow well.I then tried a quick picture using the metallics (Picture 4). It went really well and I found my initial reservations about these paints began to disappear. I had expected them to be a bit watery and hard to use, but they were not. Top marks!

A thoroughly enjoyable watercolour paint set
Not only does this set boast some of the most gorgeous colour selections I’ve seen in a while, but the addition of the refillable water brush is also the icing on the cake! This is visually such a good-looking set, and so neatly displayed that it is a joy to use. Each colour is in its own little pot and the vibrancy and clarity of each one is perfect.A high-quality set, this is very well-priced for everything it provides plus the enjoyment of using it.Though I am using this for myself, as a casual hobbyist, I can see this making a fantastic gift for so many people, regardless of their ability level.

not the best nor the worst
I found these paints to be not the best nor the worst, some of the colours are better than others, but then again for the price, hey ho! you get what you pay for....Some of the metalics I found insiped and didn't deliver, the main body of colours were extremely passable and you recieve 42 whole pans of paints so what to expect,For someone starting off I reckon they are a passible set, the paints are creamy enough and require very little for good coverage so should last a good while. The Paint is vibrant and blends with each other well, so again good for beginers

Beautiful colours
This is a great set of watercolour paints and my daughter really enjoyed it. It doesn’t mark and it comes off easy even just with a wet wipe.

Generous amount of paint, lovely set
This set is great and for a good price. You get a generous amount of paint in each little pot with plenty of colours to choose from. I like the pen, it makes the process less messy, especially if used by children. Good quality paint. I recommend it 👌

Decent quality for the price
This isn't a bad starter set of water colours and the metallic & neon colours will no doubt appeal to children even if they aren't part of the usual artists' palette! I tested the colours against some other water colours I have - Winsor & Newton, Sennelier, Daler Rowney et al. As you would expect given the different price points, you can see the difference in pigmentation, more pronounced in some colours than others, but this set is perfectly acceptable as a beginners or school set, offering a wide choice of colour without the need for mixing. You need to work a decent amount of water in to get the best out of them. The pans are loose on their slots so take care when moving the tin without its lid on.You get a watercolour brush pen included - useful for working outdoors or on the move (I wouldn't take this box on the move because of the looseness of the pans in their slots!) but these brushes have their limitations. The brushes supplied with most budget sets are awful but a modest outlay will get much better quality brushes which will almost certainly last longer.

Good value set, box is a bit of a letdown
The colours in this set are bright and deep, and the neon and metallic colours make it different from the norm. There is a swatch card at the top, so that you can take your colour and sweep it on the relevant number to you can see what the colour is like. This is only a rough guide, as but the colour depends on several factors - colour of the paper, depth of the colour, etc - so it is never an accurate representation.I was pleased with the brush, which has good quality bristles and a good point for painting fine lines. It is easy to clean, and even has a cap to protect the point. The only issue is the packaging. The little containers of paint are loose within the box, so that, if the box is moved with the lid open or the dimpled sheet of thin plastic not in place, some or all of the pots come adrift. They are all numbered on the bottom, so it’s easy to return them to their correct positions, but it is annoying. A shame, as otherwise it’s quite a good set, and good value too.
