No space for the third prong. Will I be able to use this?** A: No, it won't work with 2-prong outlets. The missing third prong is the grounding conductor. The surge protection function can't work of the outlet isn't properly connected to a grounding conductor. IF your old house is wired with BX cable (the type where the wires are enclosed in a flexible metal sheath), you may be able to install the surge protector to use the BX cable sheath as the grounding conductor.
