Of the many innovations that Lee Wulff has contributed to fly fishing, the Triangle Taper fly line is perhaps the most popular. Winner of the coveted Kudo award, the triangle taper offers the greatest delicacy of any fly line. The Triangle Taper is a continuous forward taper in the head of the line, the first 27 to 40 feet depending on the application. This provides the most efficient transfer of casting energy as it unrolls because the heavier line is constantly turning over lighter line. This design also gives you a more delicate presentation because the weight is away from the fly. It is also the finest roll casting line for up to 60’ casts. The combination of a long weighted section and a light running line make the triangle taper cast like a shooting head for distance. The tip end can be customized by cutting it back for the desired performance level. The fly line that gives you easy-casting performance for both overhand and close-in roll casting. Renowned for its revolutionary taper design, which promotes efficient energy transfer. You’ll enjoy more delicate presentations in any situation. Available in floating, 90’ length with a 36’-40’ taper and a 54’–50’ running line with welded loop for easy leader attachment.

One of the best dry fly lines on the market
I can't say it enough on how great this line is. It's been on the market for years and even with new technology lines it still shines. It's a shame more shops don't carry or promote this line.Personally I use this line on all sorts of rods, not just slower rods. This line cast like magic on a Hardy Zenith and just about every Winston. My big surprise was the black sheep G Loomis NRX 9' 4WT. This 4wt line makes the rod cast amazing.Keep in mind this is not a beginner line. It's designed for dries and roll casting. It's light front end has a purpose, and paired with RIO Suppleflex leaders it makes delicate presentation masterful.I use this line on all my Winston's, Hardy's, Orvis Superfine Glass, Epic, and the entire lineup of original G Loomis NRX LP series. If I had any complaint it would be the loop to loop connection. I'm not kind on my lines and it wears out quick. However I think the line works better without it and with a nail knotted leader. So its not a big negative for me.

Fly casters...try one of these or the Plus.
Not the first one of these that I've owned. It casts beautifully on my cane rods and floats beautifully.

Great line for both distance and finesse.
Excellent line for moderate action graphite rods (use it on my Winston GVX and LT models). Works better with a bit of line out, but short range presentations are fine, by adjusting your casting stroke...is a very good line all around. The olive color IMO is superior on difficult, clearer water.

Wrong color
I purchased the line in the color green, big mistake , it might be great in clear water but disappears in stained water. It’s hard to control or see in stained water.

Love the line but a tad bit light on short casts
The taper makes it less effective on short casts, but it is great on mid-range to long casts with dry flies. The triangle taper lands like a feather and I love the olive color.

Defective!!!
Defective, will not float, and it was a gift so we didn’t realize it doesn’t work until we were outside the return window. A to Z guarantee is useless, seller said to contact manufacturer, manufacturer will not reply.

Best line I ever.
This is my favorite fly line. I have tried many other in my 50 years of fly fishing but Wulff triangle taper is the best.
