Flash Furniture Hercules Series "X" Back Metal Restaurant Barstool, Modern Upholstered Armless Bar Height Chair for Restaurants and Kitchens, Black

I purchased these stools in July 2013 and since I have received quite a few emails with questions on my experience with them, I'm writing this review: I ordered the stools for our basement bar that my husband and I had custom built. We spent a lot of time and money designing the bar, selecting the materials and choosing a reputable contractor so we wanted the perfect stools to set off our investment. The bar looks GREAT but we discovered it is 4 inches higher than standard bar height (no fault of the contractor - he built everything to our spec). Four inches may not sound like a lot, but when you are sitting at a bar it's the difference between your drink being chest-height or chin-height. So, I searched my local retailers for stools seats that are at least 32" high - no luck. In fact, the stools I found at my local stores cost a freakin' arm and a leg - I seriously thought I was going to blow the bar budget on stools alone! I then searched online retailers and found the Hercules Black X backs stools at Walmart.com, but thought they were kind of pricey so I went to Amazon (my motis operandi whenever I shop online) to see if I could find them a bit cheaper and Prime eligible (no Prime). I found the stools $25 cheaper than WalMart.com, and more if you include shipping. I purchased 6 stools, which arrived in 2 days. They came in three pieces and took about 10 minutes each to assemble. The stools are VERY sturdy and set off the look of our beautiful bar, or "Rancho Relaxo" as my husband calls it. They are an amazing buy and a good-quality product that can withstand heavy usage - we like to entertain so in the 6 months since purchasing the stools they've withstood a lot of usage. My husband and I are extremely pleased with our choice and plan on purchasing 3-4 more stools for our pool table room. I'll try to post some photos so you can see how the stools look with a high bar. love this bar stool. It is heavy duty, very comfortable and swivels nicely with no jerking and was easy to assemble. I need three bar stools but was hesitant to order more than one and then find out they are cheap and awful. Now I can order the rest. Worth the money.

Great looking and very sturdy as well as comfortable.

My fiance and I placed an order for one of these bar stools and a separate order for a set of two of the same bar stools for our new apartment, to total a set of 3. They were delivered on separate days, but very quickly! Both packages did not include directions, but the stools were fairly simple to assemble. When the set of 2 stools arrived, it did not include all of the screws and nuts needed; it only included 4 out of the 12 needed to assemble the stools. Hopefully your purchase includes everything! However, even with the missing screws and nuts, the two stools still feel secure. You need a power drill. It is MUCH easier to assemble when you have two people. When assembling, we made a mistake on the first stool that you should be aware of so that you can avoid doing the same. We first screwed the wood seat onto the metal chair. This made it extremely difficult/impossible to tighten the nuts on the screws when attaching the seat to the legs of the chair. DON'T DO THAT! Follow these directions to assemble properly: 1. Use the 4 LONG BLACK screws to attach the metal chair to the metal legs. 2. Use the small wrench to tighten the nuts on the screws. 3. Next use the 6 SMALL SILVER screws to secure the wood seat to the metal frame you assembled in step 1. Although the order did not include everything needed, we LOVE these stools! They are the embodiment of simple beauty, class, and great quality!

I hesitated buying this chair without seeing reviews first. I'm glad I ordered them! This is a very sturdy, high quality chair. I can not believe the low cost for this quality. We bought six for around our breakfast bar. I love that they are metal and not wood that can be scratched easily. It is a nicely cushioned seat. The only problem I had was that they had absolutely no instructions. It didn't take a rocket scientist to put them together, however we questioned placing the really long screws to attach the seat cushions (there were 4 long and 4 short screws). I was afraid of puncturing the seat with the long ones, and since there were no instructions we just went and bought a few shorter screws. All that said, this is a fantastic chair that compliments our cross back dining room table chairs in the same room. I would totally recommend this product!

I’ve ordered 2 sets of these stools now at two separate times. They get 4 stars because I really like them. They’re well made and comfy. However, the boxes never come in good shape and the bags with hardware are usually open. Both of these lead to missing hardware. The first time it was two screws and we just went to the hardware store and grabbed something that would work. The second time the entire bag was empty for one stool. We had no hardware for one whole stool. I ended up calling the company that they came from and reported that we had no hardware. They asked for my order number, said I’d receive an email in 2 days, and they would mail me hardware. That call was placed 6/27. Still no email and no hardware. I needed a complete stool for a get together and didn’t have the time to call again, wait, and possibly still have no resolution, so we just went to the hardware store again. So 4 stars for the way the stools perform but one star left off for the responsiveness of the company and lack of customer service on this issue.
