The first thing about it that I liked, was the fact that it had metal gearing and not plastic gearing. If you get plastic gearing on whatever you getting, it’s cheaper and easier to produce for the manufacturer. However, it will not stand up over time and you will have an unusable piece of junk in no time. The next thing I noticed was that it has a 18 volt grass shear with a hedge trimmer and comes with a 2.0 a.h. battery. The 18 volt system is more than sufficient for grass trimming and sufficient for trimming new growth and some larger growth on bushes. I wasn’t expecting it to trim thick growth as this would require a larger area in the trimmer blades. It did an excellent job in the brush and new growth and with the 2.0 a.h. Battery it went on for over 2.5 or more hours. I also bought the larger battery(5.2 a.h.) and still haven’t used it yet. The one thing I noted on going through the reviews is that a lot of these dual grass trimmer and hedge trimmers have a wimpy 1.0 a.h battery. The complaints matched the a.h. strength ( it only lasted for a short time of an hour and needed to be recharged again. This battery kept on going and going. The one thing that would have made this better, would be an attachment for a reciprocating saw blade for larger hedge branches and tree branches,etc. . That would have made this perfect for even heavier stuff. It’s a fairly lightweight powerhouse as it is and portable with no cords.

I was very disappointed. When it worked, it worked really good. Charged for first time. Lasted maybe 15 minutes. Charged again. Then couldn't get it to work again. Took blade off and it worked, but wouldn't shut off without taking battery out. I ended up returning, which was a bummer. I liked the idea of the separate battery.

I am in love with this brand. I have owned a sunjoe grass trimmer and a ryobi grass trimmer.My sun joe lasted 3 years. The gears are plastic. The unit heats up after 30 minutes of use. The gears melted.I replaced the sunjoe with an equivalent ryobi. All our other yard tools are ryobi. The ryobi grass trimmer lasted 3 months. Again the gears are plastic. The ryobi heats up after 15 minutes of use. I made sure this time to stop and let it cool off first. A tiny rock got stuck between the blades. Removed the battery. Removed the tiny rock from between the blades. Couldn't get the blade out of the unit. I had to completely disable the blade. 3 months!I shopped around looking specifically for metal gears. I found einhell. Can't hurt to try? I left it in the box for a month, was so frustrated from the ryobi. I finally opened the box. Figured I would try for 15 minutes as most batteries aren't fully charged straight out of the box. I was able to completely weed my foam flower bed straight out of the box on a low battery! The unit didn't overheat either. The blade wasn't hot to the touch after weeding our foam flower bed.Thank you for designing and building a quality product!

Good product for quick and small jobs. Fair quality, fair price.

This tool had a difficult time cutting small boxwoods. Needs more power. Right now, it’s a joke. It would probably be okay cutting thin grass.
