I used this De-scaler for the first time last Friday, the iron almost instantly responded with more steam after use.Today Sunday, set about the ironing yet again, WOW the scale that came out of the iron was amazing, fully De-scaled and puffing steam like a proverbial dragon.Highly recommend this product, it actually works and works very well.

So, in the box I got 6x 5ml Liquid De-scaler Phials, which you put in the iron, and a Professional Iron Sole-plate Cleaning Stick.I filed my iron with 150ml of water and then added one of the phials. Put it on max heat and max steam. You then must run this until all the water has gone and no more steam is coming out of the iron - this took some time to do. During this, I also used the “steam boost” function on my iron a few times – this part isn’t in the instructions, but I though it might help dislodge any limescale. I then wiped up what had come out of the iron and there were lots of brown specs, which I assume is the limescale.The next part was to use the soleplate cleaning stick. I had to check was setting I needed to put my iron on for the recommended temperature of 60 degrees – this was wool. I waited for the iron to heat up and then wipe the stick across the soleplate. As I did this, the stick slowly melted into a liquid. I will say at this point that the smell from the melting stick is awful and stank my kitchen out!! After covering the whole of the plate, I then wiped down with a damp cloth – the iron is still hot at this point. After doing this, the plate was certainly brighter/cleaner than before. The only issue I had was that where the liquid had run down to the base of the iron, it had set and took a little effort to remove it from the iron and my draining board.This did work and, for £5.25, the kit isn’t bad value and should last 6mths.The iron is hot during all this and care needs to be taken, particularly when wiping the iron after using the sole-plate cleaning stick.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative and useful.

Very good combination of cleaning products for the iron!The descaling liquid goes into the iron and works its magic if one follows the instructions carefully! All it takes is the liquid, water and one cycle! Then I rinsed the iron’s water tank with fresh cold water and that was it. It not only took out any scale it had built up, but it also forced the scale out through the iron steam holes in that brown nasty stuff one sees sometimes when it builds up during ironing!Then comes the stick! When I spotted the brown horrible thing coming out, I used the stick carefully on the hot-ish surface of the iron and it cleaned it brilliantly! Just be careful, as this stick melts away and there is not that much to start with!All in all, a brilliant piece of kit to use to keep your iron clean!

I used it on my kettle and coffee machine and cleaned them extremely well, completely got rid of the timescale!I cant use on an iron as I dont own one anymore, gave it to my son when he moved out and to be honest in this day of age you can easily get away without ironing!Theres 6 x timescale remover doses and 1 x stick.This is a product that does exactly what it says.Highly recommended.5 stars.
