Can’t put this book down!
Such a great book; it’s a beautiful copy of the book. Perfect gift for anyone who loves history and a great story all rolled up into one. The book will grip you from the first page! I’ve given it as a gift many times, and everyone has loved it.

Characters that you will love…
I love all of the books that Stanley Gordon West wrote, but this is one of my favorites. West’s books are full of characters that you will love and adventures that we all have had. I bet you can’t read this one without falling in love with Cal.

A good read
I picked this book for my book club, it was recommended to me from some coworkers. I enjoyed the book and thought it was a quick and easy read. In my book club we always rate our books on a scale from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest); the rating in my club was '8'. I thought the story was well written and colorfully discriptive. There's also a part in the middle of the book that is a real page - turner and if you read this, you won't be able to put this book down until you get through that part! One complaint from my book club was that the story line was too neatly done and it all fell into place too simply, you would have to judge for yourself. This won't be the best book you'll ever read, but you won't regret having spent the time to read it. Last of all, I would recommend this book to others.

An absolutely amazing book!
Until They Bring The Street Cars Back" was absolutely amazing. I haven't read a book that occupied my brain(when I was not reading) as this one in a long time. I could not wait to get back to it. It was gripping and tense in spots, and not predictable. I love his writing. This is only the second book of his that I have read, and can not wait to read more.

Coming of age novel with a twist
At first, this book seems like a light-hearted account of high school from the point of view of a young sports hero. But pretty soon, he gets involved in helping the class reject, and having to decide between her and his popular friends (and his parents). There's also a little politics in the book: it takes place in St. Paul, just before gasoline-operated buses edge out the street cars. For a quick read, it has a lot of substance. It's a good book for a book club.

Very enjoyable
Fascinating story of St. Paul in the 1940s/1950s through the viewpoint of a high school senior dealing with parental issues and significant problems in his life. The story was well-developed, with lots of twists and turns. The characters were interesting and relatable. I live in St. Paul and recognized the landmarks and neighborhoods highlighted in the story. This made it especially fun to read!

Awesome
I read this in high school. I loved it so much that I needed to have a copy of it when I became an adult. Also, his book: Growing an inch, is one of my all-time favorites!
