OXO Good Grips Mango Slicer with Scoop,Orange 1 x 1.5 x 7"

"Mango slicer? Really? Can't you just used a knife?" I would hear my late husband's objections to this purchase in my mind and keep it on my "wish list" only. When I finally indulged myself, I discovered that Oxo had created yet another clever tool for making odd shaped fruits accessible without a trip to Urgent Care. The serrated edge may be plastic but it's sharp and sturdy enough to get through mango skin --but not your own. Use it next to crosshatch the flesh, then flip the tool around and employ the spoon-shaped end to scoop out nice, mouth-sized chunks. Easy-peasy and well worth the investment.

Easy to use, and makes cutting up the mango so easy. I use another tool to remove the pit, but this is really great for the mango cheeks :)

I have a bad record when it comes to slicing into my finger, so this one it a lot better for me. Only negative for me is the so-called scoop.UPDATE: Discovered yesterday that the scoop end is PERFECT for dragon fruit. It's as if the primary purpose of the scoop is for dragon fruit and the secondary for mango. Cut the dragon fruit lengthwise and just scoop the meat out in a single 360 degree turn to get the entire half out in one piece.

This little tool is super! Not only does it score great but separates from the peel with ease. Worth every penny!

This wouldn’t even cut through the skin of the mango. I love OXO products but not this one. Sent back.

I was excited to try this as mango is my favorite fruit. But this was a rare misstep from OXO. The mango slicer works fine at times, but makes a big mess at other times. It really depends on the ripeness of the mango.I didn't find that it worked much better than traditional cutting methods. I don't think this is worth the drawer space in your kitchen.

I enjoy mangos, however, always very difficult to remove from the skin. This mango slicer with scoop does make it easier, not perfect, but easier. Be sure the mango is ripe. That will help. I recommend.

The scooping end of this tool works like a charm. The knife is just right for cutting through a mango. This tool reduces waste when cutting mango by effectively separating the peel from the edible fruit. I recommend this product.

This mango cutter was sooo much easier to use than a regular knife and spoon (what we usually use). It's one of those tools you think you never need but once you buy it, it's so worth it.It makes cutting mangos faster and gets every piece of mango inside without wasting any. Even my teen is able to use this knife with supervision. I would definitely buy this if you hate cutting mangos and you want to cut them fast. Scooping is easy as long as the mango is not borderline rotten.The cutter is easy to clean too - dishwasher safe!

Gewoon perfect om mango's te snijden. Scherp genoeg om de mango te snijden maar je kan jezelf er niet mee snijden.Verder ook ideaal voor avocado's!
