Will it actually hold the shot or will it rip?

It is very durable. My daughter used it for a season and all summer so far, and it is still holding up

This holds a shot put and discus?

Per the product description: "Highly durable, water resistant polyester carrier holds two discus, two shots or one of each. Stitched with water repellent nylon thread. Holds both shots and discus.".

Does it fit a 6K shot, and a 2K discus together?

Yes but it will flare out and seems clunky but it works.

The discuss has a steel edge and wood center and the shot put is probably cast iron.
