Great read
So much action and adventure you won't want to put this book down. Very fast paced you just have to know what's going to happen next. Leaves you at the edge of your seat the entire time.

INCREDIBLE!!!!
What an incredible adventure. I just did not want the book to end. I was at location 8000 approximately, and I felt that I just couldn't bring myself to read it. I just could not see the end plan having any chance of success, the odds just being too overwhelming.I will advise readers to have recently read or re-read the previous books as you can get bogged down trying to remember the significance of characters and events from previous books. There is an awful lot going on in this book and as I have read each book only once, I did have difficulty remembering these events. Don't get me wrong this is one of my favorite series and each book is definitely worth a second reading.Mr. Bronny, thank you for an extraordinary book. I love the characters, Augum and Leera's relationship, and I especially loved the creativity of the Library. What an incredibly imaginative place that I think would make an incredible spin off series by itself. I just can't stop thinking of all the possibilities that that series could produce. I could see our brave trio returning at the conclusion of this series to partake in all the adventures the library could offer. Please think about it. Oh, and thanks for your 99 cent books, it has allowed me to own all four books of a fantastic series. Keep em coming!

Disappointing at First but Redeems itself by the End
There will be very minor spoilers in this review but I will try to keep them to a minimum and not discuss major plot points. I must first start by saying that I was stunned and disappointed by the shift in tone that this book takes on in the first half of it. For the first time in the series, it feels like a teen-focused cheesy romance. I am an adult and I can honestly say that this series never felt like something for the YA crowd until this book. The conflict with Mr. Harvus felt forced and a bit absurd. Then of course there was the never-ending barrage of Mean Girls-style hi-jinks from Malaikka. Seriously, this character seems to have been transplanted from a Hollywood high school movie. Why Mr. Bronny!? Just...why? Even the way the characters speak in this book is very contemporary and takes you out of the setting. Just when I thought the madness would end; this character and her ridiculous friend actually stow-away on the main quest! It's as if someone else wrote this book because there is nothing like what happens in the early part of this book in any of the first three. All of the main characters (who had matured so much throughout the first three books) seem suddenly unable to control their emotions at all; fumbling around like fools with their decision-making and actions. There is also a new-found emphasis on being famous; as though this were the Hunger Games...By the time I was half-way through the book, I was looking at a 2 star rating.Thankfully the book really picks up in the second half. There are some very meaningful story revelations and the plot is actually quite good. That's the shame about this book. It actually might have some of the strongest plot beats in the series. it's just bogged down with all the teeny-bopper drivel for the entire first half.Things swell to a crescendo and this book actually has the best ending in the series so far. The later parts of the book save it from a bad rating. I think the 4 stars are generous but I've really enjoyed the series as a whole and I'm giving the benefit of the doubt here. You can't give 3.5 stars so there you have it. I just pray that the author has gotten his Twilight phase out of his system because too much of that drivel will ruin the series.

Epic Read!
Well, well, Another can't put down page turning adventure in this 4th Book of the Arinthian Line! I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and I have to say Sever's books just keep getting better and better. Sever has done a superb job with this whole series including the newest, Clash. The scenes pop off the pages they are so well described it just makes you feel you are right there with the characters as the action takes place. The characters are so well developed I feel I know them personally and the emotions I felt while reading were incredible! I just want to leap in the book and join Augum, Bridget and Leera... Hmm, I believe I have said this in a previous review of an earlier book which means this is another epic read by Sever! This book is intense, and you get to stay and enjoy it for a long time because there are so many pages! I think anyone who picks up this latest installment will be highly pleased, this story reels you in and is very hard to put down. This whole series is amazing so make sure you read them all. I can't wait for the next one Sever! Bring it on!

Great read! Best so far!!
Probably my favorite book in the series so far.I read a bunch of reviews where others disliked this book a lot. I don't understand. This one was GREAT.We get more arcanery (magic), we get new friends, magic TOURNAMENTS, an old magic school with history and lore, understanding of the past, hope for the future. We get more action, more excitement, and more AWESOMENESS.People mention things like "pacing" or "teenage angst" or "there were some grammatical errors". COME ON PPL Get over yourselves, I don't see you writing incredible stories in awesome worlds with legit magic-systems, etc! I'll take your reviews seriously when you write something this good. Really, I didn't even notice ANY of that junk because of how good the book was.Really I was able to read all of the books in a series in a row, didn't have to wait for book 5 to come out. But if I had finished this and had to wait for book 5, I don't know what would have happened...

Amazing!
This has got to be THE best series of books I have ever read and being a great Harry Potter fan I did not think I would ever say this. I read them one after the other and left bereft when I had finished. A great adventure for all ages (I'm 62). A trio of teenagers with the weight of the world on their shoulders who had to grow up fast and the love they had for each other shone from the pages. Onto Burden's End now, the first of a new series. Do yourself a favor. Buy book one NOW and immerse yourself in a true epic adventure. You will be blown away I promise.

addictive. again.
Anyone who's entered the world of the Arcane already knows Sever Bronny delivers. Fun storyline, great characters, interesting twists and enough action coupled with intrigue to keep any reader flipping pages well beyond bedtime. This latest installment of the adventures of Augum and his good friends Bridget and Leera won't disappoint. The most apt description of this story line (as with the entire series) is that of a mobeus strip. When you sit to read this book, make sure the chair you're in is both comfortable and has arms and legs to anchor yourself in and around. You'll get maybe a page or three into the chapter, feel you've a grasp on the path, and whoops! suddenly that chair is upside down on the ceiling. A little further in, after you've regained your own stomach, the story and characters (all older, wiser and more skilled) take yet another unexpected twist, turn and flip AGAIN.The closest comparison I can come up with is: we're witnessing a new J.K. Rowling with the inventiveness of the story line, the thorough and believable building of characters (some old ones will reappear to explain some of the mysteries encountered in previous books, yet there are always more questions arising even from those answers.)Bringing back some of his characters and progressing with them shows readers that some characters they'd believed long out of the picture, aren't. Really. Well, mostly.Mr. Sever is definitely onto an addictive, thoroughly howling great tale. Characters that are easily anyone next door (without certain arcane abilities.)Do not pick this book up if you've deadlines on other things you need to meet. As always, these books glue your hands and eyes to them. It's a sinful addiction, but hey, everyone needs to exercise their brain muscles too - even without being of an Arcane talent!

Magie, Betrug, Helden ...

Into the dungeons again!
Brilliant. So much fun. Go dungeon-diving with the intrepid threesome yet again. Creative and brilliant new take on magic with lots of nostalgic touch-points for the grown-up geek and the current RPGPs... Bronny has created a fun world with depth of character and history. Read. This. Book
